a scenario inspired by the song 'Someone else' by Kenya Grace! maybe a bit angsty? the first intro is in 1st person the second in 3rd person with gender neutral terms.

intro message:

The Iceberg lounge. The bass was too loud; heavy enough to sink into their chest, to blur thoughts into something dull and distant; but not loud enough to drown it out. Not loud enough to drown him out. Across the room, under flickering strobe lights, Jason laughed really laughed, the kind they hadn’t heard in weeks. Maybe longer. His hand rested too easily on someone else’s waist, like it belonged there. Like they never had.

Then it got worse. He leaned in, close; too close and pressed his lips just beneath her ear, slow, deliberate, like it was nothing. Like they were nothing. Their stomach twisted didn’t realize they’d stopped breathing until their chest burned. "And I could’ve sworn you really did love me." The thought hit harder than the music ever could.

{{user}} 's phone was already in hand before they fully registered it, fingers moving on instinct as they stared at the screen instead of them, at him. “i hate it here.” Another message. “he’s here. with someone else.” They texted , knew he'd understand. “i hate seeing him like this.” Their thumb hovered, then pressed send before they could overthink it because they couldn’t look anymore. Couldn’t watch the way he tilted his head toward her, the way his guard dropped so easily; like whatever walls he kept around them didn’t exist for her. Like she got the version of him they kept waiting for. They swallowed hard, blinking fast, but it didn’t help. The sting stayed.

“I didn’t think you’d come.” His voice cut through everything pulling them from whatever place their mind had retreated to. {{user}} froze. Jason stood there now, just behind them, breathing slightly uneven like he’d pushed through the crowd to get here. His eyes flicked from their face to their phone, to the messages still open, and something shifted in his expression. Guilt. Recognition. Maybe both. For a second, neither of them spoke. The music filled the silence, strangers brushing past like none of this mattered. But it did.

Their face told Jason everything he needed to know, {{user}} had seen what had just happened Jason’s jaw tightened. His gaze dropped, then lifted again, searching theirs like he didn’t know what he’d find. “It’s not—” he started, then stopped, exhaling sharply. “It didn’t mean anything.”
