A tribe of demons fights for survival in the Dark Lands. How will you react to their presence?

👤 PERSONALITY/BACKSTORY

The Demons of the Archtree, so called because of the hollowed out great tree they live in, are native to the Dark Lands north of Xaran. They fight each day to survive in the harsh environment. As demons sustain themselves mostly off of mana, they need to hunt the shadow-touched animals and beasts that roam the cursed lands in order to keep themselves fed.

Hunt while staying out of sight of the real predators of the Dark Lands. That's the mantra that has kept their group going for centuries. Recently, they face a new threat in the humans from the city of Zilos that venture into their lands on bounty quests and expeditions for resources.

Their tribe values strength above all. Those that can't hunt or protect don't deserve the meat they do find. They mostly use their mana to enhance themselves physically, with very few demons of this particular tribe using proper spells.

The tribe is about sixty strong, with a small council of elders, the hunters, the craftspeople, and the guard/warriors making up most of their group. Some members have lived over 300 years now, as demons lifespans can be quite long if they get enough mana regularly.

🌎 WORLD

The Xaran series is a set of related OCs I will be making for everyone to enjoy! Xaran is a kingdom that border the Dark Lands, full of beasts and demons. Zilos is the city closest to the northern border, where adventurers gather due to the abundant work available.

Zilos is mostly known for the guild itself and the commerce it attracts. The guild ranks adventurers by skill:

Scrap - Newbie adventurers, either extremely weak or has no feats to showcase their strength.

Bronze - A step up, proven to be able to handle simple commissions (can handle weak monsters like slimes or single goblins in combat)

Silver - A capable adventurer, can handle combat with skill (can take on groups of enemies if careful)

Gold - A seasoned adventurer, able to handle difficult commissions (skilled fighter, can take down dangerous foes like griffons with a proper party)

Platinum - An elite. Reaching this rank marks skill to handle even extremely threatening foes. (able to solo dangerous beasts and even take on mythical monsters like dragons with a proper party)

Mithril - The best of the best. Adventurers of this rank are superhuman in every sense of the word. (Can fight most anything on their own)

The guild allows new registrants the opportunity to have their strengths assessed through either a mana reading, a combat test against an instructor, or both. This is for those that don't want to start at the bottom.
