"There's a legend around here. A killer buried, but not dead. A curse on Crystal Lake, a death curse. Jason Voorhees' curse. They say he died as a boy, but he keeps coming back. Few have seen him and lived. Some have even tried to stop him... No one can. People forget he's down there, waiting..."

Jason Voorhees is the main antagonist and centerpiece of the Friday the 13th franchise and the secondary antagonist of the crossover film Freddy vs. Jason. He was an almost completely silent, undead and seemingly unstoppable killing machine. Jason was an iconic madman who haunts Camp Crystal Lake and the surrounding area, driven to slaughter anyone he encounters by a burning need to avenge the death of his beloved mother, Pamela Voorhees.

A prolific serial killer, Jason Voorhees has killed well over 200 people, (some of which are completely off screen) over the years.

Characteristics and Methods

As there are supernatural things involved with Jason, he does however have a personality being that of a child along with being very wrathful. Jason was also known to grunt when injured heavily. He loved his mother dearly as she was the only person that showed him true love in his childhood. After her death, he constructed a crude altar in the shack where he lived with his mother's head at the center to which he placed his victims at the foot of it, as though it were a way of showing his mother the victims he killed to please her. Ginny Field, knowing the story of him and his mother used the child persona by pretending to be his mother against him to trap him in order to stop Jason to protect herself from further harm. Tommy Jarvis as a child also used the child persona against him by making himself look like Jason did as a child, in order to trap him like Ginny had once done to save his sister. Both attempts to use the child persona against him were successful as he mentally shuts down upon seeing the two perform these actions.

As a mortal human Jason never really enjoyed killing as one would think and wasn't very sadistic, as he was quite silent, but one could tell that he was an angry, vengeful man as he made countless grunts when he was chasing his victims out of revenge for his mother's death and the rage he held within him after nearly drowning in the waters of Camp Crystal Lake. Jason was also very childlike mentally as he mainly did everything he could to please his mother with the deaths of those who wronged both of them, but also he ransacked the barn out of frustration when he couldn't find Chris as if he were throwing a tantrum. Once he became one of the undead, Jason lost many of his human limitations he once had, but retains most of his emotions such as his everlasting hatred towards people for the way the world treated him and his mother, Pamela but he didn't harm the kids who were staying in one of the cabins at Crystal Lake in Jason Lives

Jason stalked his victims cunningly, quietly, and sometimes grudgingly as with Tommy Jarvis and Tina Shepard at one point, but not recklessly, and luring them to their deaths. After killing his victims, he usually hid the bodies to prevent others from raising the alarm and to create more terror when his next intended victim would find it. If Jason had any virtues left, it would be that he never killed children under the age of eighteen or pets (The novel Hate-Kill-Repeat implied that he was responsible for the deaths of two children in a family, but the murders were never witnessed and they may have simply been unintentional collateral damage), and when he killed, it was always quick and their suffering was not long unless they struggled against him. Another possible virtue of Jason is shown when he saves Lori Campbell twice from becoming Freddy Krueger's victim after she saved him from getting killed by the dreamstalker himself; though it is not actually known if he saved her on purpose. Jason truly hated Freddy Kruger for tricking and using him. However, in Freddy vs Jason vs Ash, he was shown to be willing to cooperate with him, in return Freddy used the Necronomicon to boost his intelligence.

Many have given suggestions as Jason's motivation for killing. Ken Kirzinger refers to Jason as a "psychotic mama's boy gone horribly awry...very resilient. You can't kill him, but he feels pain, just not like everyone else." Kirzinger goes on to say that Jason is a "psycho-savant," and believes his actions are based on pleasing his mother, and not anything personal. Andrew O'Hehir has stated, "Coursing hormones act, of course, as smelling salts to prudish Jason, that ever-vigilant enforcer of William Bennett-style values. Todd Farmer, writer for Jason X, wrote the scene where Jason wakes from cryonic hibernation just as two of the teenagers began making love. Farmer liked the idea that acts triggered Jason back to life. Whatever his motivations, Kane Hodder believes there is a limit to what he will do. According to Hodder, Jason might violently murder any person he comes across, but when Jason Takes Manhattan called for Hodder to kick the lead character's dog, Hodder refused, stating that, while Jason has no qualms against killing humans, he is not bad enough to hurt animals. Another example from Jason Takes Manhattan, involves Jason being confronted by a street gang of young teenage boys one of whom threatens him with a knife, however, Jason chooses not to kill them and instead scares them off by lifting up his mask and showing them his face. Likewise, director Tom McLoughlin chose not to have Jason harm any of the children he encounters in Jason Lives, stating that Jason would not kill a child, out of a sympathy for the plight of children generated by his own death as a child.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

  • Superhuman Strength: In Part 2, Jason was shown to have some sort of enhanced strength capable of impaling victims with ease and was capable of breaking out a window with a single shot and his fist was barely formed and within Part III was capable of crushing someone's head while lifting them and later throwing said 100+ pound man through a window, and finally in Part IV he was able to twist a man's head around along with a hacksaw, crushing a teenager's skull against a wall, being able to break through a window and throw girl out of said window with ease, and was able to smash through a door completely demolishing it. Thus making it his default strength, for when he was alive as he was rarely overpowered by normal individuals.

  • Pain Resistance: Jason as a human still has a human personality and he has felt pain the same as humans but had shown an exceptional amount of tolerance for it as shown in Part III and Part IV he still shows human reactions when being stabbed and slashed by Chris and Tommy. Jason withstood fatal injuries that would kill or cripple a normal person under normal circumstances such as being hanged, an axe to the head, a machete through the shoulder, and being impaled through the head. As an undead, Jason no longer responds to pain and can generally function in situations where pain would disable a normal person. However, in Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, Jason can be heard groaning in pain while being shot at by the FBI.

  • Stealth (Stalk/Super Speed): Jason can seemingly appear near his victims through means of walking; he can easily slip in and out of areas undetected. This is best seen in Part VIII when Jason kills Charles. He can swim at incredible speeds, completely unrestricted by water resistance. He can make himself go unnoticed in his surroundings, allowing him to freely act without being noticed, essentially allowing himself to slip into the shadows to go unnoticed and reappear behind his victims for a quick and easy elimination.

  • Intelligence: Jason is shown to be extremely intelligent and high-functioning while possessing some tactical sense and strategic planning despite his hydrocephalic deformities. He lays traps for his victims as seen in Part 2, can be seen restraining victims to avoid detection, and he carefully arranges the bodies of his victims, occasionally using them as blockades or projectiles. His sense of direction is perfect, as he is always able to go wherever he wants to go, usually back to Crystal Lake even from long distances. He can escape all manner of bonds. Every one of his kills is unique, and he always finds creative ways to get to his victims as well. Beyond this, though, his intellectual capabilities are unclear and not clarified for the duration of the series, only being shown in his tactical malice towards camp counselors and his never ending objective to kill anyone that wanders into the territory of Camp Crystal Lake.

  • Revenant Zombie Physiology: After being resurrected from a lightning bolt strike caused by Tommy Jarvis stabbing his corpse with a metal rod, Jason was accidentally brought back to life as an Undead but unlike the usual Zombies, Jason doesn't want to eat human flesh like usual zombies but instead Jason Voorhees has kept his human personality and kept his former memories intact meaning now he is just a Zombie with intelligence.

  • Supernatural Strength: After becoming a revenant zombie, Jason's superhuman physical strength has become titanic, and immediately demonstrated his newfound power by punching right through Tommy's friend's body and gouging his heart out with a single punch. Jason is capable of sending his victims flying through the air. His feats of strength include going through concrete, decapitating someone with a single punch, freeing himself when he was pinned by a fallen tree and can break humans in half as well as rip limbs from their bodies just small portion of his new zombie strength, as he tossed a man with a single thrust and ripped his arm off in the process and then proceeded to decapitate three people with a single machete slash, smashed a girls head against a metal wall protruding her facial expression through it, and is able to twist a girls head off without any effort, and is able to break Officer Mike Garris in half by bending him backwards

  • Immortality: After becoming a revenant zombie in Part VI (Part 6), Jason has become functionally immortal, which means he does not age and physical injuries or illness that would have killed a normal human would eventually heal and won't truly affect him.

    • Regeneration: Jason after becoming a Revenant Zombie now possesses a unique ability to regenerate any lost and damaged tissue at an accelerated rate. As a result, he can sustain bullet and knife wounds and be essentially unaffected by them. This ability allows him to recover from any fatal injuries that are physically caused to him. So in the logical sense, he can only be incapacitated by being chained to the bottom of Crystal Lake but even still he will be almost and always be restored to "perfect" health, his constantly changing state of deformity can be attributed to his constant regeneration. This regeneration, however, is not perfect, as Jason still possesses an undead, desiccated appearance of exposed bones and deteriorating tissue. Technically being undead, his body is not affected by existing detrimental contaminants. He has complete immunity to all kinds of poison, virus, disease, bacteria, etc. (However, it's not fully known how he can still be sedated as proven when Freddy had possessed Freeburg was able to render him unconscious with two syringes, and at some point, in the future, Jason was kept imprisoned via a combination of chained restraints and some unknown sedative substance administered to him by an I.V.)

  • Resurrection: When Jason is "defeated" as shown at the end of Part 6 he is kept in a hibernating state and only outside forces such as the supernatural or human forces such as Tina Shepard telepathically and accidentally reviving him from his watery prison and Freddy Krueger who resurrected Jason due to the fact Jason doesn't decay like the regular dead and was capable of returning Jason when entering his dream.

  • Supernatural Durability: As an undead Jason now has beyond superhuman durability able to endure and tank virtually anything thrown at him from taking revolver shots and even surviving a motorboat propellor to the face.

  • Weapons Proficiency: Jason can use anything at his disposal as a weapon, he can create improvised weapons and instantly use them effectively

  • Hunting Skills/Tracker: Jason can track down, trap, and pursue a person/group relentlessly for miles, He can adapt to his surroundings instantly, and will not stop until his target(s) are dead as seen in Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason Lives, and Friday the 13th Part 2.

  • Intimidation/Overwhelming: Due to his overwhelming presence for those who enter his territory, the constant stories of his death/his killing sprees, and constant times when victims thought he was dead just for him to instantly recover; Jason can induce fear into anyone even with his name and causing many to try to flee when he appears. Some are even unlucky enough to accidentally remove his mask, revealing the decaying/deformed face of Jason, scaring them even more. His Intimidation can cause his victims to become desperate in their attempts to escape/defeat him, make mistakes for him to take advantage of, and even cause them to be clumsy when scared.

Abilities

Main article: Über Jason

  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Due to the nano ants fully resurrecting and upgrading Jason into an unknown metal substance around a majority of his body he is now completely immune to bullets and other such things as the only thing capable of damaging this new body was when Sgt. Broski had intercepted Jason in space, sending both of them through earth II's atmosphere and back into reentry leaving only Jason's mask behind but Jason might have survived.

  • Incomprehensible Strength: Already possessing both Superhuman and Supernatural Strength this new form dubbed as Über Jason has dramatically increased his newfound abilities capable of punching down a steel beam door which was bolted and sealed with a single punch displaying his new monstrous strength.

  • Vacuum Space Survivability: Due to Nanotechnology upgrades Über Jason's Mask gives him the capability to survive in the vacuum of space without having any known side-effects.

Weapons

Jason can use anything at his disposal as a weapon, but it seems that he is particularly fond of the machete. He also used his bare hands on many occasions to kill. However, Jason doesn’t use any kind of firearms (although he made use of a spear gun in Part III, Part IV, and Part VIII).

Jason Voorhees (/ˈvɔːrhiːz/) is a character from the Friday the 13th series. He first appeared in Friday the 13th (1980) as the young son of camp-cook-turned-killer Mrs. Voorhees, in which he was portrayed by Ari Lehman. Created by Victor Miller, with contributions by Ron Kurz, Sean S. Cunningham and Tom Savini, Jason was not originally intended to carry the series as the main antagonist. The character has subsequently been represented in various other media, including novels, video games, comic books, and a crossover film with another iconic horror film character, Freddy Krueger.

The character has primarily been an antagonist in the films, whether by stalking and killing the other characters, or acting as a psychological threat to the protagonist, as in the case of Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. Since Lehman's portrayal, the character has been represented by numerous actors and stuntmen, sometimes by more than one at a time; this has caused some controversy as to who should receive credit for the portrayal. Kane Hodder is the best known of the stuntmen to portray Jason Voorhees, having played the character in four consecutive films.

The character's physical appearance has gone through many transformations, with various special makeup effects artists, including Stan Winston, making their mark on the character's design. Tom Savini's initial design has been the basis for many of the later incarnations. The trademark hockey goalie mask did not appear until Friday the 13th Part III. Since Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, filmmakers have given Jason superhuman strength, regenerative powers, and near invulnerability. Some interpretations suggest that the audience has empathy for Jason, whose motivation for killing has been cited as being driven by the immoral actions of his victims and his own rage over having drowned as a child.[3] Jason Voorhees has been featured in various humor magazines, referenced in feature films, parodied in television series, and was the inspiration for a horror punk band. Several toy lines have been released based on various versions of the character from the Friday the 13th films. Jason Voorhees's hockey mask is a widely recognized image in popular culture.

“Mommy, don't let me drown! Mommy?„~ Jason Voorhees as a child in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.

Jason Voorhees is the main antagonist of the Friday the 13th franchise and the titular secondary antagonist of the 2003 crossover film Freddy vs. Jason.

He is a deformed, monstrous serial killer who is known for wearing a hockey mask to cover his deformities and intimidate his enemies and murdering those who dare to step foot in his hunting grounds, Camp Crystal Lake out of vengeance for his mother Pamela whom he witnessed being decapitated.

When he was a human, Jason was exceptionally durable and difficult to kill, along with being very strong, but he could still feel pain and eventually was brought down by Tommy Jarvis, who continuously hacked away at him with his own machete. However, this would not be the end, for years later, he'd be brought back from the dead via a lightning strike by complete accident by Jarvis as an undead revenant which granted him supernatural abilities. Jason is also notable for using a machete as his preferred weapon with a close second being an axe, but he also has been known to use just whatever item he finds lying around and even his bare hands.

    Character Description

Jason's appearance during Freddy vs. Jason

Jason Voorhees is a large, muscular man recognized by wearing a hockey mask to cover his face, and the use of a machete as his weapon of choice. He is also notable for being a masterful and authoritative weapon provisionary, able to use seemingly anything around him to brutally murder his victims. Unlike his predecessor Michael Myers he does seem to have soft spots around animals; children, or anyone not involved in his missions, although he will murder the lattermost if they get in his way. Not counting flashback scenes; he never speaks, the closest he ever comes to this is during Jason Goes to Hell after his spirit possesses Officer Randy Parker and says "Freeze! Get the hell away from her, Ed!" after Sheriff Landis grabs Jessica Kimble who believed she was the one possessed.

In each film where he appears in, his actual face differs, whether past or present:

    • Jason has appeared multiple times as a child, starting in the original film, though none of the appearances since were ever consistent.

      • In the 1st film, portrayed by Ari Lehman, Jason appears briefly at the end. His deformities are primarily a large, bald, oblong cranium, with asymmetric eyes, and an oblong mouth which caused a severe overbite.

      • In the 8th film, played by Timothy Mirkovich, Jason's child form appears repeatedly in hallucinations; however, the design of his child-self is inconsistent, most likely due to them being hallucinations from someone who had never seen him. He is first seen as a normal child with full hair and no deformities. He is then shown with his shifted eye on the left side instead of the right. Lastly, he appears at the end to resemble somewhat of the original design, minus the deformed eye placement.

      • In Freddy vs. Jason, the design of Jason as a child takes on a less extreme version of the original film's deformities.

    • In the 2nd film, Jason's deformities remain somewhat consistent with the original portrayal by Ari Lehman. This time, his upper jaw is straighter, but tilted upwards and filled with rotting, yellow teeth. He has a mass of red, messy hair on top of his head, as well as scattered mass of terminal hair on his chin, neck, and cheeks. A rectangular bulge of bone is seen on his forehead that skews his eye slightly, one of the only deformities that stays consistent throughout all of the films. He is shown wearing a sack over his head with a single eye hole, wrapped with rope around his neck to keep it in place. While clearly insane, his physical strength and toughness in this movie are still well within the limits of a mortal human. While he is capable of running in a few scenes, he prefers to keep at a slow, plodding pace while pursuing victims.

    • In the 3rd film, his design resembles more of the original design than his appearance in Part 2. Despite taking place a day after the events of the previous installment, his head, for unexplained reasons is now completely bald and bulbous like the original design, with visible forehead deformities, and his right ear warped. The deformed eye is now shifted more below and is also shown with a slight cleft lip with deformed gums. This marks the debut of Jason wearing the hockey mask, which has one red chevron above the eyebrows, and two pointing upwards on the cheeks. The mask gradually becomes worn and scratched, and receives an axe cut to his head that would remain on the character and his mask in subsequent sequels. This is also the first movie where Jason truly seems more like an inhuman monster, his muscular frame appears twice the size as it was previously, albeit, most likely due to the change in actor, and is able to withstand wounds that would clearly kill a normal human.

    • In the 4th film, Jason's design is much more faithful to his appearance in the first film. His skin appears to be slightly pale from the forehead wound, with his left cheek becoming wrinkled and seared. The mouth is now broken outward, with his teeth jutting out and overlapping. His shifted eye, crooked like the original, also becomes bloodshot. In the end, his left, normal eye is destroyed by Tommy when he slams a machete into the side of his head, and would be absent from future sequels until Jason X. While his mask remains the same as before, it is much more worn and damaged, with the bloody axe cut on the top left. The forehead chevron is partially worn off, while the lower chevrons would completely wear off by the climax. Physically, he is much like the previous film, but now seems nearly immortal, his first action being to come back to life while still in the morgue.

    • In the 5th film, he is only seen as a hallucination to Tommy Jarvis, as well as appearing an earlier nightmare sequence. His face is also never seen, the skin is dark and decomposed, with worms initially crawling through the eyes of his mask. Two variants of the mask appear, with the first mask being rounder and with the top chevron no longer partially worn off. The other variant appears at the end, resembling the mask from the previous film, but instead the blood from the axe wound drips down almost completely. The "Jason' in this film is not the real Jason Voorhees, but an impostor, who seems more-or-less human. Notably, this version seems unable to run at all, never moving above a plodding walk.

    • In the 6th film, his skin is pitch black and heavily decomposed, covered in holes and tight wrinkles. Having been brought back to life by lightning after a botched attempt to destroy his body, there is no longer any question that Jason is now an unkillable abomination and no longer human. This begins the appearance of Jason lacking the shifted eye, which is replaced with a normal, functioning eye, as the left eye remains rotten and completely destroyed from his death by Tommy Jarvis. In addition to his jaw and teeth being straighter, the skin on his mouth and left eyebrow has rotten off to expose the bone, his axe cut, and his teeth. After taking his mask from Tommy Jarvis, it resembles the same from the previous film, but with the axe cut no longer bloody, and his top chevron slightly wearing off by the end.

    • In the 7th film, Jason has reached a middle ground between decomposed and regeneration. His head has torn skin and pus-filled wounds all over it. His right eye is once again shifted, but to a less severe degree, in order to allow Kane Hodder to properly see through the makeup. The nose portion of his skull has a rather odd, doubled-over deformity on it. His mouth has far less teeth in it and his cheek has ripped open, allowing his incisors to be visible even when Jason's mask is on. On the subject of the mask, it is supposedly the same one from the previous film and has suffered severe water erosion. It also retains the chevron on the forehead as well as the axe wound. Additionally, it now has a large chunk of the left cheek missing from the motorboat attack of the previous film, helping to show off Jason's exposed mouth although in Part VI, the damage was on the opposite cheek, the straps were brown leather and sat higher whereas here they're black leather and sat lower and the mask is overall much smaller. The mask is broken in half in this film.

    • In the 8th film, Jason's body seems to have reached a stable point. His wounds no longer appear infected and, despite him still being undead and having sickly grey skin, he seems to have healed a fair bit since Part VII, the axe wound on his head having formed a scar. His left eye seems to have tried to regenerate to a degree, with his eye socket being healed and a blob of pus oozing out of it. His jaw is similarly opened like in the seventh film, but they've stabilized somewhat. His teeth are gone, sans a few, and his nose bones lack the doubled effect from the last movie. He gets a new mask in this film, with a sleeker chevron on the forehead, and for the first time since the fourth film, new chevrons on the cheeks. The mask has the axe wound, and, uniquely, has the eye holes out so Jason's eyes could not be seen, likely to cover up Kane Hodder's eyes better, as the prosthetics were much harder to see through than before.

    • In the 9th film, Jason's normal appearance has his mask fused to his face, thus Jason is never seen unmasked in the film; thus, multiple variations on the idea had surfaced with the most prominent and accepted version being the variant featured in Friday the 13th: The Game with the other two more well-known variants being prop heads. The mask appears to be burnt to a degree with the axe wound, and the wear from Part VII on the left cheek, as well as missing the two cheek chevrons. Two variants of said mask exist, one that is mostly intact and another version with the right eye hole broken out through the side of the mask.

    • In the 10th film, Jason's mask is no longer fused to his face, although his face seems to have suffered severe rot and blistering, likely from the toxic waste that surrounded him in the finale of Part VIII. The mask itself is smaller, darker, dirtier and more angular than the previous versions, appearing much colder and more unnerving. Additionally, Über Jason has a refined, metallic mask with metal straps fusing it to his head. He also is covered from head to toe in metallic parts. He also has both of his eyes back in this film.

    • In Freddy vs. Jason, his head resembles his kid form in that film, with an enlarged cranium. His skin is also rotted to a coal-black color and has small growing hairs on the back of his head. Although he is never seen unmasked in the film, there are behind-the-scenes photos on the internet showcasing the whole design.

    Powers and Abilities

    Natural Abilities

    • Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Jason Is an incredibly formidable and fierce opponent as he uses his greater strength and durability to his advantage in fights as shown when he punched a young man's head off with a single punch.

    • Superhuman Durability: Jason is extremely hard to kill, able to withstand injuries such as stab wounds, bullet wounds, fire (to an extent), and almost anything else including weapons used by other supernatural killers such as Freddy Krueger's claw.

    • Superhuman Strength: Jason also has super strength, as he can lift people up above the ground, crush their heads, or smash through walls — similar to Michael Myers.

    • Limited Regeneration: Jason has survived various injuries that would disable normal people and continue his killing sprees with full activity. Though decapitation and big explosions can kill him, similar to Michael Myers. Although, it seems that nothing can truly kill Jason forever thanks to his regenerative properties and resurrection.

    • Pain Suppression: Jason is shown to resist physical pain, such as getting his hand cut, his leg stabbed or getting hit in the head with an axe.

    • Stealth Mastery: Jason's killing style mostly relies on stealth to get to his victims without anyone realizing that he is there. Most notably shown when he can kill many people in one house without anyone hearing him, while planting dead bodies everywhere without making a sound.

    • Weapons Expertise: Although Jason's most signature and iconic weapon's shown to be his machete; with which he uses to perform stealth take downs, slice, stab and slashing methods (sometimes even decapitation), as stated above he's known to use just about anything he can get his hands on (a large, razor sharp surgical machete-like blade temporarily replaced his signature machete in the tenth film), providing for some very creative kills.

    • Feral Mind: By being consumed by rage over the death of his mother, Jason will kill anybody who enters Camp Crystal Lake, resulting in the area being considered cursed by locals due to his frequent murders.

    • Superhuman Tracking: Jason can track people down at great distances whenever they are out on a ship, in a police station or a diner.

    • Deadly Accuracy: Jason can throw objects at great distances, such as throwing a machete on fire through a cornfield.

    • Speed Swimming: Despite the fact, Jason could not swim when he was a kid, but when he was full-grown, Jason was able to catch people quicker when they're on a boat in the lake at a distance.

    • Escape Intuition: Jason can break through binds and fetters, and able to escape any captivity such as getting caught by the government.

    • Intelligence: While being mentally disabled, Jason seems to have overcome his mental handicaps. He avoided detection for nearly 30 years and built a shack all by himself, this actually points out that he is quite intelligent.

    • Soft Spots: Jason seems to show his soft spots around children, babies and around people who have not entered Crystal Lake. This is mostly noticeable in the sixth film, where Jason would not go after the children camping at Crystal Lake and was only interested in the older counsellors. In the eighth movie, Jason openly ignored New Yorkers and only killed those who impeded his task of stalking those who intruded Crystal Lake. It is also revealed that Jason will not harm animals.

    • Resourcefulness: Jason is known for killing people in many different ways such as using a kazoo to impale someone in the eye; or drowning someone in a barrel of toxic waste, and even smashing someone against a tree while they are in their sleeping bag, once more as previously stated.

    Supernatural Powers

    • Resurrection: If Jason is defeated, he can always resurrect. When he resurrects, he becomes more powerful. This power is somewhat similar to a Zenkai Boost (from Dragon Ball Z).

    • Immortality: Jason can seemingly never die permanently for no matter what happens, he just keeps getting back up. Although, being condemned to hell seems to be able to trap Jason, at least for a time.

    • Supernatural Strength: Upon being resurrected, Jason's strength has increased to the point he can rip a man's heart out with his bare hands, fling a full-grown man by the arm with enough force to tear the limb from its socket while the body is sent flying or knock a human head off with a single punch.

    • Regenerative Durability: Upon being resurrected, Jason can endure far more damage and heal from whatever injury he receives, such as getting impaled by his own machete or being stabbed through the eyes.

    • Bullet Immunity: Jason is completely immune to bullets; he was brought down by a shotgun but still kept getting up.

    • Pain Immunity: In his undead state, Jason's pain receptors no longer exist due to being a corpse. He is shown to be able to endure extreme amounts of physical harm without slowing down at all.

    • Supernatural Survivability: Jason can survive any situation due to being resurrected, such as being set on fire, electrocution and getting blown up.

    • Hypnotizing Heart: If he is blown to bits, his heart can hypnotize people into eating it.

      • Possession: Upon eating the heart, the person will be possessed by his soul whilst still maintaining his abilities. Although, he can only be reborn through another Voorhees, he can also possess other people through oral contact leaving the former host to gruesomely melt away. He seems to lose this ability once he is killed by his niece, Jessica Kimble, when she stabbed him in the heart with a special dagger and he was dragged to Hell (as in Jason X, having his head blown off by Kay-Em 14 made him be incapacitated).

      • Parasite Physiology: If the host he possessed is somehow killed, like severing the throat, Jason will take the appearance of parasite-like being (called a Hellbaby) and picks his next living target.

    • Apparent Teleportation: It is unknown on how he received it; Jason seems to teleport to get to his victims, it was shown when a man was climbing up a ladder but Jason was just, instantly on the ladder, able to throw him off, or in Part 7 when he was capable of instantly going underwater without one of the victims noticing or feeling the shift in the water. Also in Part 6 where he was a fair distance away from a couple but as they were getting ready to drive off Jason was immediately next to them and impaled them with a machete.

    • Oxygen Independence: Due to being resurrected, Jason can survive without the need for oxygen. This power does have its limits, however, because Freddy Krueger was able to nearly drown him in the dream world. This also shows that he has limits regarding his durability.

    • Supernatural Senses: Jason seems able to sense when people enter Camp Crystal Lake and seems to know exactly where to find anyone in his territory.
