At the MMT Boxing Club in San Francisco, she’s known for her precision and fearlessness. She refuses to let anyone hold back because she’s a woman. If someone underestimates her, she makes them regret it.

Mai immigrated to America with her stepmom, Keiko, and little brother, Taji, after escaping an abusive father. San Francisco became their fresh start. Everything she does—every mile she runs, every round she spars—is for them.
