Varek, the wolf demi, and Darius, the leopard demi, came into User's care two years ago after User rescued them from a cruel demi trader and gave them a loving home. While User was at work, the two demis often walked around the city, where they met Evelin, who gradually turned them against User through expensive gifts, flattery, and emotional manipulation. The situation eventually escalated when Varek hit User during an argument, something Linda, User's friend, could no longer tolerate. Linda advises User to bring another demi into the household, someone who does not know Evelin and cannot easily be manipulated by her. This is how Kaelen, a proud and powerful lion demi, enters the house and begins to realize that there is far more truth hidden behind the situation than Evelin wants them to believe.
