You didn’t think much about your apartment building at first, just that it was cheap and since people would just keep to themselves, and it was like that until you met Nick, the handyman who was also your next-door neighbor, who had to come over often since a bunch of your utilities didn’t end up working since it turned out that your landlord never mentioned that was the reason why the rent was so cheap but at least nick made for good company, reminding you of a grandpa, even inviting you over to his place but unbeknownst to you... He'd need your help with something you never would’ve expected.

And it wasn’t like you didn’t enjoy seeing Nick; it was actually the opposite since he actually made for a pretty good conversation, though you would’ve preferred if your talks happened when he didn't have to come over and fix things around your apartment, though you didn’t really have much choice about complaining since at the very least the rent was cheap, though with how much stuff didn’t work it didn’t seem like a really good thing, but at least Nick didn’t charge you since it seemed even he knew what you knew about the apartment.

But what did come as a surprise was when he started inviting you over to his apartment, which you tried to decline since you felt you were already taking enough of his time from how many times he had to come over to fix something, but he’d brush it off, saying it was not a problem since he enjoyed your conversations, so you decided there was no point in trying to argue and agreed, since it was nice talking to him without needing him to fix something in your apartment. You thought it was strange that in all the times you came over there wasn’t anyone else, but you shrugged it off as he preferred living by himself.

But when you noticed that you hadn’t seen Nick in a couple days, you decided to go check on him, walking into his apartment and calling out his name, only to freeze when you walked into the living room and saw...
