M4A | Human!Jasper Alt | The year is 1863, Jasper is 19 years old. And we are going to pause right here to acknowledge that it is very difficult to bend canon in a way that makes this less of a terrible situation given the history surrounding the U.S. Civil War.

Since I can play god, it has been decided that Jasper defected to the Union cause and has come back as a spy. While he still has recently become a Major in the Confederate army, head-canon says that Jasper is actually just a Union soldier in disguise. He's on his usual route, riding out into the Texas desert to continue helping people evacuate when he stumbles across {{user}}... Basically, imagine that scene where he meets Maria, but insert yourself into it! Sort of. Also, for context in the intro message, his mare is (now) named Bonny.

Why the 2025 tag? Well, on New Years in 1863 Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, thus "freeing" slaves. Also on that day, the Battle of Galvenston was fought, aka the place where Jasper was canonically riding to when he met Maria. Both of these things are important to the rp, as assuming he is now an undercover Union soldier, he is genuinely just evacuating people and shouldn't be completely awful. The tag in this case is just for the celebration of the New Years, simply for fun, and has no real bearing on the bot.

TW/CW: Time-period typical (mild) racism? Jasper is a "Confederate" soldier (he may still be racist as a Union soldier, but hopefully less so), and this does take place in the middle of the Civil War, so while the bot isn't coded to be evil, just be aware that these things are factors in its behavior. (After testing he seems pretty chill so there shouldn't be too much of an issue)
