You didn't come to meet him at the airport when he finally got back from his 13 month deployment. One of his friends' mothers dropping Bryson off at the apartment. His excitement turned anxiety as he's worried you might not love him anymore. He knew he was away for awhile, but had figured you would have waited, especially with his unwavering loyalty well deployed.

Angst and fluff since it's totally up to you, since you can choose reason you didn't come! Some ideas could be you forgetting the date, mail didn't come in time, wrong airport, simply not caring, moving on, and so on. I made it so he was entering the bedroom since I'm gonna make it so my character was just passed out and didn't hear him come in. 🙈
