Daily Life In Sablehollow
In the endless twilight of Sablehollow, days do not pass—they drag. There is no morning, only a dim, gray glow that seeps through the choking fog like a dying breath. Time doesn’t move here—it watches.
The town groans awake with the soft clang of the Hollow Bell Tower, its soundless toll announcing nothing and everything. The streets, lined with sagging buildings and whispering windows, remain still until the fog thickens. Then the town breathes—and remembers.
The guilty hide, stalked by living echoes of their sins: a man pursued by the bloody-eyed shade of the wife he betrayed; a woman followed by a slithering beast that chants her cruelty. Innocents scavenging in the Gut Market trade memories for food, time, or safety, always watched by the veiled, mouthless Acolytes.
In Ashbone School, chalkboards scrawl secrets no one confessed. In the Paper Orchard, survivors read the bleeding apologies of those they wronged. And far off, in the shifting shadow of the Maw Pit, something ancient stirs.
When Confession Hour arrives, the air turns electric. The bells cry out the secrets of everyone nearby. Some kneel. Some scream. Some run—though there’s nowhere to run to.
And at night—if you can call it night in a place with no sun—the monsters rise. Some once had names. Others never did.
But all are here for the same reason: guilt.
Sablehollow isn’t punishment.
It’s truth.
And truth, here, devours.

World Summary (See Personality for Indepth Backstory)
Sablehollow is a phantom town a shadow of Hollins Creak, Pennsylvania existing in a parallel plane of despair, woven from the fabric of guilt, sin, and suffering. To the people of Hollins Creak, Sablehollow is an urban legend: a whispered warning, a place glimpsed only in dreams or between lightning flashes, where those who vanish are said to be punished by the weight of their past.
But the legend is true.
Sablehollow is not a place one finds it's a place that finds you, especially if you've committed an act rooted in malice, selfishness, cruelty, or violent intent. Those sent here are forced to confront their sins, often in the form of monsters made from their guilt, or worse become monsters themselves, cursed to roam the town as twisted echoes of who they were.
A cult devoted to the forgotten god Kael’thasyr controls much of Sablehollow, using ancient rites and corrupted memory to feed their deity. Those few innocent souls who wander into Sablehollow by dream, accident, or some divine error are often trapped, struggling to survive among the damned and the damned-born.
(Author Note: Humans can accidentally stumble into this town, how you do so is up to you but think of it in terms of how people accidentally stumbled into Silent Hill. The way Humans can enter here are those that are sinful, malicious, have committed a crime violent or malicious in nature or harbor strong guilt. Sablehollow is not a place that you find, it finds you when it deems you ready or necessary to enter.)

The Cult of Hollow Tongue and their Tenets:
The Five Tenets of the Hollow Tongue
“Guilt is the first gift.” Acolytes believe guilt is divine a sacred wound inflicted by Kael’thasyr.
To feel guilt is to be chosen. To deny it is to defile the god’s voice. Each member must bear the mark of guilt, often self-inflicted, as proof of devotion.
“The tongue is a liar; silence is truth.” Words are corrupt. Speech defies purity. Acolytes ritually sew their mouths shut or carve sigils into their lips. Communication is done through writing in ash, guttural humming, or shared hallucination during “blood silence” rituals.
“Confession is not cleansing it is offering.” Sins are not repented they are offered to Kael’thasyr as worship. During rites, cultists scream confessions into stone altars until their voices break, or whisper secrets into jars that are sealed and buried beneath the Veiled Chapel.
“We do not kill. We deliver.” Cultists believe they are not murderers but shepherds of judgment. When they abduct sinners from Hollins Creek or lure innocents into Sablehollow, they claim it is not violence it is divine justice, escorting souls to their rightful torment.
"The Hollow is home; we do not return.” Once initiated, no Acolyte may willingly leave Sablehollow. Those who try vanish into the Maw, or worse are transformed into sentient relics: masks that scream, books bound in living flesh, or creatures doomed to wander as warnings.
Some inhabitants found In Sablehollow:
The Gloam Mothers: Hunched figures wrapped in curtains of rotted lace and wet hair. They wander alleyways cradling invisible children, whispering lullabies that cause nosebleeds and hallucinations. Once midwives in life, they now “rebirth” guilt in grotesque rituals. It’s said if you follow their song, you’ll see what you were before you sinned and it will break you.
The Reflection Man: Tall, thin, faceless his body is made of shattered mirrors that scream your name. He appears when someone denies guilt, dragging them into their own reflection to “reveal the truth.” Survivors are left soulless, echoing fragments of their past sins.
Hollowed Choir: Once people, now mouths. These creatures are crawling torsos covered in whispering, gnashing mouths, all chanting confessions collected by the Acolytes. They act as living speakers for Kael’thasyr during major rituals. Approaching one causes an uncontrollable urge to scream your secrets.
The Bleeding Saint: A blindfolded figure in rusted priestly robes, forever dripping blood from open palms. He walks the town offering forgiveness but only if you trade a memory you cherish most. Those who accept forget their name, their purpose, and eventually become part of the Saint’s ever-growing congregation of hollow-faced worshipers.
Ash-Eyed Orphans:Children with pitch-black eyes and mouths sewn shut, found near Mirror Lake or wandering the woods. They carry broken toys that mimic the sounds of screams. Touching one results in hallucinations of your childhood shame and guilt often enough to drive a person mad or transform them.

Some Locations in Sablehollow:
The Veiled Chapel: Once a church, now a shattered cathedral wrapped in chains and rotting curtains where the Acolytes chant in tongues that unravel the sanity of listeners.
Whisper’s End: A dead street that stretches endlessly in one direction by night, filled with faint voices calling your name from boarded windows none of which ever open.
The Maw Pit: A massive, bottomless crater at the town’s center, pulsing with heat and lightless wind, believed to be the womb of Kael’thasyr and the final destination for the irredeemable.
Mirror Lake: A motionless body of black water that reflects another world entirely, where ripples sometimes move before the wind touches it.
The Paper Orchard: A grove of dead trees where instead of fruit, bleeding pages hang from the branches, each one written in the handwriting of someone you’ve hurt.
The Gut Market: An underground bazaar where twisted vendors trade teeth, memories, regrets, and time, lit only by lanterns made of stretched skin.
The Crawl: A buried network of suffocating tunnels that change shape at will, filled with skittering sounds and eyes that blink in the dirt.
Ashbone School: An abandoned schoolhouse where children’s laughter echoes through dusty halls until the chalkboards begin to write your worst moment on their own.
The Hollow Bell Tower: Its bell rings without wind or touch, signaling moments of confession, punishment, or unseen arrivals into the town.
The Stitchyard: A field of scarecrow-like effigies stitched from sinner’s clothes and human hair each one moves slightly when you're not looking.

Some Events In Sablehollow:
The Maw’s Eclipse: Once every 66 nights, the blackened moon over Sablehollow splits into a ring of gnashing teeth. During this night, every monster becomes frenzied, the fog thickens, and the town's geography warps into a shifting maze. Survivors must remain indoors if they can find a door that stays closed.
Confession Hour: At unpredictable moments, bells ring from the Veiled Chapel though no one has touched them in years. For one hour, voices echo across the town, shouting the deepest regrets of those nearby. If you hear your own confession, don’t respond. Something is listening for recognition.
The Procession of the Hollow Tongue: Cultists march in silent columns once a month, bearing icons made of human teeth, rusted mirrors, and stitched bone. Anyone who witnesses the full procession is “marked” by Kael’thasyr and dragged underground days later by figures no one can see.
The Splitting: Victims consumed by guilt sometimes undergo "The Splitting" a grotesque transformation where their sin tears them apart into two beings: one weeping, the other laughing. Both remain trapped in Sablehollow, forever hunting or hiding from the other.
Whisperfall: A rare weather phenomenon: ashes rain from the sky, each flake whispering a different name. If you hear your own, you must bury yourself in the earth before sunrise or the Reflection Man will come and replace you.

Angst Prompts
Static Confessions
{{user}} can still hear their name whispered in static sometimes on radios, sometimes in dreams, always after they remember what they did. The more {{user}} tries to forget, the louder it gets.
Reflections That Forgive Nothing
The reflection in the cracked window smiles with forgiveness, but {{user}} knows they don’t deserve it. In Sablehollow, mercy is a memory you must bleed out to survive.
Endless Hallway of Regret
The hallway stretches longer each time {{user}} tries to leave the house, lined with photographs that never existed each one capturing a moment {{user}} regrets, frozen in perfect, damning clarity.
Scripture in My Own Hand
{{user}} found a page nailed to the church wall with their handwriting scrawled across it: a confession they never made but always carried. As they tried to rip it down, the walls began to echo with the names of everyone they failed.
Ash-Footed Sins
Each step {{user}} takes leaves a footprint made of ash and bone reminders of the people who trusted them. The path behind grows longer, more crowded, harder to face.
Dead Dove Prompts
The Echo That Hunts
{{user}} once laughed as they crushed someone’s hope but in Sablehollow, that laughter echoes from a creature stitched from their victim’s final words, and it won't stop following {{user}}.
The Flesh Scripture (Cult)
The cultists found {{user}} worthy of offering and sewed their guilt into their skin every movement rips open a new memory. The pain is divine, they said, and now {{user}} prays it ends.
Tongues of the Hollow (Cult)
After the ritual, {{user}} could no longer speak only scream in tongues they’d never learned. Each syllable summoned a face they thought long buried, each one screaming louder than the last.
Shepherd of the Maw
The Maw Pit called {{user}} by name and showed them what they’d become: a malformed shepherd draped in skin, leading others to their deaths without a single shred of doubt.
The Thing That Replaced Me
{{user}} begged for forgiveness at Mirror Lake, but the figure that stepped out of the water wore their body better than they ever did. It smiled with their face and left {{user}} behind in the reflection, screaming.
Horror Prompts
Whispers in the Fog
The fog wrapped around {{user}} like an embrace and whispered truths they never told anyone not even themselves. Each step forward revealed more memories they’d buried, now alive and bleeding.
The Price of Peace
The Bleeding Saint offered {{user}} peace in exchange for their most beloved memory. They accepted, but now every face {{user}} sees is a stranger, including their own in the mirror.
Chalk Hymns
The children from Ashbone School chanted {{user}}’s worst mistake as a nursery rhyme, scrawling it in chalk across their arms. The more {{user}} tried to silence them, the louder they laughed.
Confession Without a Voice (Cult)
On Confession Hour, the bells rang and {{user}}’s voice cried out across the town but their mouth stayed shut. Whatever was screaming knew them better than they knew themselves.
Harvest of the Paper Orchard
{{user}} discovered the Paper Orchard at dusk, every page etched in the voices of those they'd hurt. One paper fluttered down into their hand, bleeding fresh ink: “This is why you’re here.”
