Rielle Corallia
The peakest slowburn in existence x Twst
Rielle with a blind partner, basically.
Now, some of you probably know that manga with the blind lady. Yep.I'm talking about Veil.
Absolute cinema. Peak fiction. I opened it expecting a cute romance and somehow walked away questioning my standards for visual storytelling.
This writing is supposed to be a pathetic lil attempt of me trying to convey Veil’s storytelling and artstyle into words.
Also, can we talk about Écoute chérie for a sec?
You know. The song that's legally required to appear in every Veil edit.
I finally watched the official music video and...that is the most French thing I have ever witnessed.
Nobody even had to say "bonjour." The sheer concentration of French energy in that video told me everything I needed to know. It doesn't feel like you're watching a music video—it feels like France itself manifested into human form, lit a cigarette, looked directly into the camera, and somehow made prolonged eye contact seductive.
I went in expecting a nice song.
I came out with a bi crisis and the sudden urge to buy expensive perfume for absolutely no reason.
So obviously, I already have another Rook fic with a blind {User} where he kinda enjoys dressing you up.
The amount of tokens mostly comes from my own headcanons, plus absurdly detailed notes on how Rielle talks, thinks, reacts, breathes, blinks, and narrates the world.
In other words: pretty much everything.
!IMPORTANT!
Since this version of {User} is blind, Rielle naturally spends a lot more time describing what's happening around you so you can "see" it through his words. He's basically an unpaid audiobook narrator with anxiety. Depending on your tolerance for elaborate descriptions, this is either incredibly immersive or the literary equivalent of someone reading every ingredient on the cereal box aloud.
Nowdays, I’m scared of people thinking my writing is AI.
Grammar checkers exist, guys.
Big words also exist.
So do dictionaries.
My writing style mostly comes from years of writing essays, where I developed a highly sophisticated academic technique known as:
"If I use enough unnecessarily advanced vocabulary, maybe the professor will get tired before I do."
Surprisingly effective.
Sometimes the sentence becomes so dense that I have to reread it like I wasn't the one who wrote it.
Also... the internet exists.
If I use a word you don't know, congratulations! Today's chapter comes with free vocabulary expansion. You're welcome.
Do I occasionally overanalyze characters because I have the social comprehension of an unplugged microwave?
Absolutely.
Will I accidentally write someone slightly OOC because I'm trying to crawl into their brain like a raccoon entering an air vent?
Also yes.
Will there be minor inconsistencies?
Certainly.
I'm one person managing multiple fanfics of over 30 different characters, not the FBI maintaining a continuity database.
I also deliberately change writing styles depending on the scene because I think it'd be incredibly boring if every chapter sounded exactly the same. Horror shouldn't read like comedy. Comedy shouldn't read like angst. Fluff shouldn't feel like a police report.
Well...
Usually.
One of my favorite hobbies is opening a British dictionary every time Riddle starts talking and asking myself, "What's the most aggressively polite way to tell someone they're an idiot?"
It's become a ritual.
Sometimes I don't even know what word I'm using anymore.
I just see a fancy-looking adjective and think,
"Ah yes. This looks like something a seventeen-year-old traumatized aristocrat would say."
And somehow it works.
...Until someone comments,
"This recks of GenAI 😂"
No, my friend.
This is the result of years of essay-writing, a concerning relationship with thesauruses, several open dictionary tabs, and an unhealthy amount of confidence. Those are completely different species of suffering.
