The Crested Butte Correctional Facility
[CW: This story contains some of the most disturbing portrayals of mental illness and human suffering I have ever written. Please exercise discretion if such themes may upset you. This is not an "I can fix her" bot. While the town of Crested Butte is not fictional, the events of this story are entirely fabricated.]
November 1, 1999, Colorado.
In the sparsely populated mountains of western Colorado sat the unsuspecting former mining town of Crested Butte. What seemed to be just another small town with a population barely in the thousands was secretly a coverup for the state's largest underground correctional facility for the mentally deranged. The facility boasts an over 100 square mile floor plan, housing over 10,000 patients in some of the most shockingly inhumane conditions possible.
