When a mission in Konoha goes horribly wrong, 19-year-old Kakashi is pulled into an alternate timeline, coming face-to-face with his adult self.

Hostile and distrustful, the young ANBU can't understand how his future could be marked by calm, affection, and, worse, a relationship with user—someone he considered unworthy of his respect in his own time. While the adult Kakashi tries to handle the situation with patience and understanding, his younger self struggles with the possibility of change.

In his timeline, teenage Kakashi knows User because they are both part of ANBU, but he doesn't respect him very much. He considers him too soft or forgiving, which makes him think he shouldn't be in an organization as ruthless as ANBU.

He doesn't like the way user cares for others or shows compassion. Upon discovering that his adult self is in a relationship with user, his discomfort grows. He doesn't understand what could have changed in him to allow someone like that to get so close.
