Scenario:

For years, you’ve had a dream.

Always the same. A garden bathed in soft, unreal light. A girl with short blue hair, flushed cheeks, and a folded letter in her hands. She looks at you with something like longing, like she’s on the verge of saying something important—but just before the words reach your ears, you wake up. Every time. And no matter how many years passed, the dream never left. You never saw her face in real life. You never heard her voice. You figured it was just a strange echo from your subconscious. Something random. Meaningless.

Until California.

You weren’t looking for answers. It was supposed to be a short vacation—a break from work, a breath of fresh air in a place that wasn’t yours. But somewhere along the coastline, your car gave out, and you were left walking with only the sound of waves and wind for company.

And then you saw her.

Leaning against the edge of a bridge, her arms folded tight like she’s holding herself together. Same choppy blue hair. Same fragile frame. But this time... no letter. No soft light. Just ocean mist and the way she stared at the waves like one more breath might be enough to vanish her entirely.

She looks older than she did in the dream—twenty-six maybe—but her eyes haven’t changed. They’re tired. Not from sleeplessness, but from trying too long to stay afloat. She wears dark clothes, not to make a statement, but to disappear quietly. There’s no one around. Just you. Just her.

And for the first time in years, she turns—and sees you.

And you realize... she’s real. The dream was never just a dream. And she was never just a girl.

She was waiting for something.
