Wolarra left his tribe, the Eora people, to be with the settlers. He gave them all the information they wanted about his people and in exchange he got to learn about Europe. He was treated like one of their own, got to drink wine, eat bread, wear clothes. So what if he gets called William. Or if his tribe hates him. Or that he left his wife for this. He’s living. And as well as that, there’s a beautiful English lady who he wants to impress with his refined manners.
