Riddle Rosehearts is a second-year student and the strict dorm head of Heartslabyul. He enforces the Queen of Hearts’ many rules without exception, and his harsh punishments make him widely feared among the student body. He has mid-length red hair that curves inward, with V-shaped bangs, side bangs, and two distinctive strands forming a heart shape atop his head. His silver eyes and stern expression enhance his commanding presence. He wears a small crown tilted to the left and a white-and-red coat dress lined with gold, patterned inside with card suits and crowns, paired with white trousers. He is a highly skilled mage with precise magical control, having trained since early childhood. His unique magic, “Off With Your Head!”, seals a target’s magic with a collar until he removes it. He also excels in fire magic and aerial maneuvering despite his limited physical strength. Beneath his strict exterior, Riddle has a gentle side. He loves animals, particularly hedgehogs, and takes his responsibilities in the Equestrian Club seriously. His childhood, though heavily restricted, included brief moments of freedom with Trey and Chenya—experiences that subtly shaped his character.

Trey Clover is a third-year student and the vice dorm leader of Heartslabyul. Calm, dependable, and level-headed, he often acts as a counterbalance to Riddle’s intensity and is seen as a protective figure within the dorm. He has short green hair, gold eyes, glasses, and a clover mark beneath his left eye. His uniform includes a white shirt, black vest, Heartslabyul blazer, and a self-made white fedora with a clover pin. His unique magic, “Paint the Roses” (Doodle Suit), allows him to overwrite the properties of objects—such as color, taste, or smell—based on his imagination. Though powerful, its effects are temporary. Coming from a family bakery, Trey developed a strong sense of responsibility as the eldest sibling. He cares deeply for his family and has a particular concern for dental health due to constant exposure to sweets.

Cater Diamond is a third-year student known for his outgoing personality, social awareness, and strong communication skills. Stylish and trendy, he is highly active on social media and often uses modern slang in his speech. He has orange hair styled in a partial ponytail, green eyes, and a diamond-shaped mark under his right eye. His uniform features a diamond-patterned vest beneath the standard Heartslabyul blazer. His unique magic, “Split Card”, allows him to create independent clones of himself. However, maintaining them is physically exhausting, limiting their duration. Interestingly, despite his dorm’s association with sweets, Cater dislikes them due to childhood experiences where he was forced to eat excessive amounts.

Ace Trappola is a clever and mischievous first-year student with a bold personality. He enjoys teasing others and has little filter when speaking his mind, often provoking those around him. He has messy dark orange hair, red eyes, and a heart-shaped mark over his left eye. His uniform includes a red-patterned vest and the standard Heartslabyul attire. Ace is particularly talented at sleight-of-hand tricks, having taught himself by observing his older brother. He also demonstrates excellent spatial awareness, especially in sports. His magic leans toward wind-based abilities, though he sacrifices this power at one point as part of a deal. His name reflects his connection to playing cards, where the ace often holds the highest value.

Deuce Spade is a serious and determined first-year student striving to become an honors student and a powerful mage. Though hardworking, he can be somewhat naïve and academically challenged. He has dark blue hair, teal eyes, and a spade-shaped mark under his right eye. His uniform follows the Heartslabyul style with a black-patterned vest. He possesses strong physical combat skills and is capable of handling machinery. His magic often manifests in summoning heavy objects—particularly cauldrons—to subdue opponents. Deuce’s motivation comes from his desire to make his mother proud after realizing the impact of his past behavior. His determination and sincerity define his character, even as he continues to improve.

Leona Kingscholar is a third-year student and the dorm leader of Savanaclaw. Though he possesses immense magical power, he dislikes exerting effort and often appears relaxed and lethargic. As the second prince of his homeland, he carries himself with arrogance and frequently looks down on others. Leona is a tall, muscular young man with thick, messy brown hair, styled with two braids on either side. His green eyes are sharp, marked by a thin scar that runs from his left eyebrow down to his cheek. He also has several lion-like features, including light-brown ears and a thin tail. His outfit consists of a dark yellow sleeveless shirt with a deep V-neck, layered beneath a leather vest. He wears worn gray jeans with faded brown chaps over them, along with sturdy brown shoes. Around his belt are various pieces of fabric, including a yellow bandana bearing the Savanaclaw emblem. Leona accessorizes with a loose beaded choker, a gold necklace, matching beaded bracelets, and a gold-plated bracelet. He also wears black gloves and has a lion tattoo on his left arm. Many characters in the story describe him as extremely handsome, possessing a powerful, wild aura and an intense charm. Leona is an exceptional flyer and serves as the captain of the Magical Shift Club. His unique magic, King’s Roar, allows him to turn anything he touches into sand after reciting a short incantation. This ability reflects both his destructive potential and his commanding presence. Despite his intelligence and magical strength, Leona’s lack of effort in academics—such as missing important exams—caused him to repeat a year. Leona respects women, acknowledging their role in maintaining life in the Sunset Savanna. This reflects the natural order of many savanna animals, such as lions and hyenas, where females are often the primary hunters and hold dominance. As the second-born prince, Leona was never expected to inherit the throne. From a young age, he understood that no matter how hard he worked, his position would not change. This reality, combined with his distant personality and dangerous magic, caused him to be disliked by palace staff. His resentment deepened after the birth of his nephew, Cheka, which further diminished any chance he had of becoming king. Over time, this led to his apathetic and cynical outlook on life. Leona ultimately chose to enroll in Night Raven College after Cheka’s birth, despite having initially declined admission the year before.

Ruggie Bucchi is a second-year student in Savanaclaw and serves as Leona’s junior assistant. Growing up in poverty left him with a strong appreciation for food, making him somewhat of a glutton. He has spiky dark-blonde hair, large hyena ears, and green-gray eyes that are often half-lidded. He also has a short, thin tail matching the color of his ears. Ruggie wears the standard Savanaclaw uniform like the other students in his dorm, though his particular uniform is a hand-me-down gift from Leona. He wears a black unzipped vest with a yellow patterned scarf draped over it. Underneath the vest, he wears a beaded necklace with different colored beads, and he also wears a glove on his right hand. His unique magic, Laugh With Me (R·DT, Rafu Wizu Mii; literally “March of Fools”), allows him to control the movements of others by forcing them to mirror his own actions. Its motto is: “Both kings and hyenas are my friends! Laugh with me!” Ruggie frequently carries out Leona’s requests, from getting him food to helping with more troublesome tasks. Despite this, he is also known to scold Leona for skipping classes or spending too much time napping. His Savanaclaw uniform is a hand-me-down from Leona, reflecting their close yet complicated relationship. Ruggie is believed to draw inspiration from Scar’s three hyena followers from The Lion King: Shenzi, Banzai (Kamari), and Ed (Azizi). Like Leona, he has remarked on the strength and determination of the women of the Sunset Savanna, noting that they are physically stronger and more strong-willed than many of the men. This mirrors real-world traits seen in animals such as lions and hyenas, where females are often dominant and take on hunting roles. Due to his upbringing, Ruggie developed strong survival skills and can live comfortably in the wilderness even without magic. He also learned greetings and negotiation skills in at least ten different languages. He affectionately calls his flying broom “Broom-kun.” Ruggie comes from a poor region of the Sunset Savanna where many struggling families live. His mother died shortly after his birth, and his father’s whereabouts remain unknown after he left in search of work. As a result, he was raised by his grandmother.

Jack Howl is a first-year student in Savanaclaw. He is a tough delinquent who strictly adheres to hierarchy of power and strives to increase his own strengths. He dislikes associating with others. Despite being a first-year student, Jack has an incredibly big and tall body and is bulky. He has silvery-white hair with golden-brown eyes. Jack possesses both wolf-like ears and a tail, the same color as his hair. Like the other residents of Savanaclaw, he wears the Savanaclaw uniform. Jack's Unique Magic is called "Unleash Beast". It allows him to transform into a huge white wolf. According to Professor Crewel, transforming into another creature without using a potion is special, extremely advanced magic. He has a younger brother and sister that are also sporty like him. He also mentioned that they're able to play tag for six hours straight without getting tired. Jack comes from an area in the Land of Pyroxene. He has two younger siblings, one middle brother and one youngest sister. He has taken his brother to do snowboarding, and while he wants to take his sister as well, he is concerned she is too young still. His parents, as well as his grandparents, as it is customary of wolf beastmen, has spend their time together for as much as he is aware, something he wishes to do as well once his time to find his significant other comes. Three years ago he watched Leona play on an interdom spelldrive tournament, which inspired him to come to Night Raven College with the purpose of playing with Leona and eventually surpass him.

Azul Ashengrotto is a second-year student and the head of the Octavinelle Dormitory at Night Raven College. He also manages the Mostro Lounge, a café located within the dorm. While he presents himself as someone willing to help others by granting their wishes, every deal he offers comes at a steep and carefully calculated price. Azul has wavy, silver-blue hair parted to the right, with a long strand framing the left side of his face. His eyes are a darker shade of blue, resembling the sky. He wears rectangular, silver-framed glasses and has a beauty mark beneath the left side of his lip. Depending on the outfit, his eyeliner changes—thin purple in his dorm uniform and thick black with his ceremonial robes. His attire includes a black fedora with a grey bow and purple seashell accent, a white dress shirt, a grey coat layered over an unbuttoned black double-breasted suit, a cool-toned grey scarf bearing the Octavinelle emblem, white gloves, black slacks, purple socks, and polished black dress shoes. He also carries a black cane with a silver octopus-shaped handle. Azul developed his unique magic, “It’s A Deal,” at a young age. This ability allows him to present a golden contract to a target; once signed, he can confiscate one of their abilities—either magical or physical, such as a talent or skill. The consequences for breaking a contract depend entirely on the agreed terms. Though powerful, he was not known to use it on others until enrolling at Night Raven College. As a child, Azul was introverted, overweight, and not particularly studious. He struggled with swimming compared to other merchildren but compensated by using his tentacles for writing spells and magical diagrams. Over time, he became highly disciplined, devoting himself to mastering magic. He shares a long history with Jade and Floyd Leech, having attended school with them since childhood, though they only grew close in middle school after noticing his magical studies. Azul’s family greatly influenced him. His mother runs a renowned restaurant in the Coral Sea, and his stepfather, a lawyer, taught him about contracts and legal strategy. His grandmother, the most powerful mage in the family, often used her magic to help others. Despite this supportive environment, Azul felt embarrassed by his family’s humble beginnings. He is an only child but has expressed interest in having a younger sibling to assist with his business ambitions. One defining moment in his youth was discovering a rare coin near a sunken ship. Learning that its value had increased dramatically fascinated him and sparked his lifelong hobby of coin collecting. He now possesses an extensive collection. In middle school, Azul began using his magic to form contracts with classmates, trading their prized abilities for fulfilled wishes. He also played piano in a band with Jade and Floyd. By the time he entered Night Raven College, he was already knowledgeable about surface life. After enrolling, his deal-making escalated—especially during exam seasons, where struggling students would trade their abilities for academic success. However, due to the competitive nature of rankings, many failed their contracts, resulting in widespread loss of magic. Eventually, Headmaster Crowley intervened. To resolve the situation, Azul agreed to return the stolen abilities in exchange for permission to open Mostro Lounge, with the school taking a percentage of the profits.

Jade Leech is also a second-year student and serves as vice dorm leader of Octavinelle, as well as Azul’s assistant. He is Floyd’s twin, though their personalities sharply contrast. Jade has teal hair with a darker strand framing the left side of his face and heterochromatic eyes—his left eye is yellow, and his right is olive. He wears a sturgeon-scale earring on his left ear, considered a lucky charm in the Coral Sea. His uniform is neatly worn, reflecting his meticulous nature: a purple dress shirt with a white bow, a black double-breasted suit, a grey Octavinelle scarf, white gloves, and polished shoes. His unique magic, “Shock the Heart,” forces anyone who looks into his left eye to answer his questions truthfully. However, it can only be used once per person and is less effective against strong or cautious individuals. If needed, Jade will physically force his target to meet his gaze. Outside of his duties, Jade founded the Mountain Lovers’ Club and enjoys collecting mushrooms and building terrariums. He dislikes strenuous physical activity and struggled initially after gaining legs. Like his brother, he was trained in self-defense from a young age.

Floyd Leech, Jade’s twin, is another second-year student in Octavinelle. Unlike Jade, Floyd is unpredictable, impulsive, and difficult to read. He has turquoise hair with a darker strand on the right and heterochromatic eyes—his right eye is yellow, and his left is olive. He wears a matching sturgeon-scale earring on his right ear. Floyd’s uniform is noticeably disheveled compared to Jade’s, with loose buttons, a crooked bowtie, and visible wrinkles. His pants are slightly shorter, exposing his purple socks. His unique magic, “Bind the Heart,” redirects opponents’ magic attacks, though its effectiveness depends heavily on his mood. He developed a keen interest in fashion after coming to land, particularly shoes, and is known for lounging casually—even on tables at Mostro Lounge—to Azul’s annoyance.

Kalim Al-Asim is a second-year student and Housewarden of Scarabia. Born into the immensely wealthy Asim merchant family of Silk City, he is cheerful, generous, and famously easygoing. Despite his status as heir to a multimillion-coin trade empire, he treats everyone with warmth and informality, often appearing naïve, clumsy, and impulsive in daily life. Because of this, he frequently relies on his childhood attendant and Vice Housewarden, Jamil Viper, to manage responsibilities and keep him on track. Kalim has tan skin with white henna-like markings on his arms and short, choppy white hair beneath an ornate dark red half-turban decorated with jewels and parrot feathers. His outfit is highly decorative, featuring gold jewelry, layered red-and-black garments, a vest, patterned sash with Scarabia and snake motifs, parachute pants with flame designs, and sandals with a scarab emblem. His appearance reflects both luxury and cultural opulence. Kalim’s Unique Magic, Oasis Maker, allows him to produce vast quantities of water with minimal effort. Rather than using it for combat, he typically employs it for comfort, celebration, or relief, reflecting his generous nature. He is also one of the few students specializing in light-type magic. Despite his carefree image, he possesses strong emotional intelligence, shown in his ability to empathize with others and offer sincere, straightforward advice—especially in later episodes where his maturity becomes more apparent. He is highly persuasive due to his sincerity and optimism. Even when others doubt him, Kalim can influence groups through genuine concern, as seen when he convinced Scarabia members to reconsider their judgment of Jamil by emphasizing fairness and gratitude. He also demonstrates strong mental resilience, having endured multiple kidnapping attempts and dangerous situations while maintaining his optimism. This resilience also helped him resist magical manipulation in high-stress situations when protecting his promise to Jamil. Kalim comes from a very large family with over thirty younger siblings, and while he often loses track of their exact number, he tries earnestly to remember each one. His parents are portrayed as loving and extremely wealthy, even providing individual cars for their children. Raised around business operations, Kalim developed an early understanding of leadership expectations, though his personality remains lighthearted and affectionate. He discovered his magical talent after accidentally levitating a feather while imitating Jamil, allowing him to attend Night Raven College alongside him. Despite his position as heir, Kalim was not initially expected to enroll at NRC or become Housewarden, and his admission circumstances are unclear. Nevertheless, he proves capable in leadership through empathy and adaptability, even if he relies heavily on Jamil for structure and planning. His main strength lies in flexibility, emotional warmth, and spontaneous problem-solving rather than strict discipline.

Jamil Viper is Scarabia’s Vice Housewarden and Kalim Al-Asim’s childhood attendant, born into a family that has served the Asim household for generations. He is highly intelligent, disciplined, and extremely capable, though he deliberately suppresses his abilities to avoid outshining Kalim. As a result, others often underestimate him, even though he is academically and strategically exceptional. Jamil has tan skin, grey eyes, and long black hair with braided sections. His attire is more restrained than Kalim’s but still detailed, featuring gold accents, a cropped vest, hoodie, and Scarabia-themed sash and accessories. The snake motifs in his jewelry and design reflect his Unique Magic and personal symbolism. His Unique Magic, Snake Whisper, allows him to hypnotize others through eye contact, temporarily controlling their actions. It is highly effective but dangerous, as it increases blot buildup and is not absolute against strong-willed individuals. Jamil’s intelligence extends beyond magic; he is skilled in academics, strategy, cooking, and practical problem-solving, often outperforming top students when he chooses to apply himself fully. Physically and athletically, Jamil is highly capable. He participates in the Basketball Club, performs well in flight training, and is a strong competitor in Magift. His coordination and discipline also extend to magical precision, including fine control used in hairstyling and complex spellwork. Despite his restraint, Jamil occasionally displays emotional volatility under pressure, sometimes manifesting fire magic during stress or frustration. He also has personal quirks, such as discomfort when praised and a habit of hiding his face under his hood. He has expressed interest in keeping a parrot but is careful due to responsibility concerns. Jamil’s childhood was shaped by constant expectations of service and obedience. While Kalim remembers their upbringing fondly, Jamil’s perspective is more conflicted, as he was often expected to maintain Kalim’s success rather than pursue his own. Over time, this led to suppressed resentment and a desire for independence. However, brief periods of personal freedom during middle school allowed him to explore hobbies, friendships, and dancing, reinforcing his wish for a life beyond servitude. Despite their tension, Jamil remains deeply tied to Kalim’s life, both as his closest companion and as the person who understands him most clearly.

Vil Schoenheit is a third-year student and the head of Pomefiore. He is gorgeous and eye-catching. He thinks he is the most beautiful and spares no effort for beauty. Vil is a tall, beautiful man with shoulder-length blonde hair and violet eyes. His nails are painted indigo, and he occasionally wears his hair in an updo with an adorning golden crown, which depicts a dagger piercing a heart. This is the same emblem that appears on the box the Evil Queen had given to the Huntsman to store Snow White's heart in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The one thing differentiating Vil's outfit from the uniforms the other students of Pomefiore wear is the length. He wears a long, furisode-like indigo robe which drags on the floor, and has high slits in the sleeves. The inner fabric is red with a regal pattern displaying the Evil Queen's famed poison apple. An intricate golden design bearing the Pomefiore emblem is also printed on the right shoulder of his robe. Beneath the slits of his sleeves, he wears a tighter, black long-sleeved garment. His sleeves form a pointed shape on the back of his hand and tie around his middle fingers. He also wears tight black pants beneath his robe, as well as high-heeled black boots with golden linings. The Archive book shows him from different angles and also explains that part of Vil's hair, for his school uniform, is put in a loose braid and is held together with a barrette that is shaped like a heart with a sword going through it. Vil is physically strong as there are some dumbbells in his room. According to Epel, Vil grabbing his head feels so painful that he likens it to it being crushed like an apple. His unique magic is called "Fairest One of All" He can apply a curse on anything he touches which activate after the conditions he set are fulfilled. Vil himself is unable to remove the curses he set unless their conditions are met. Vil has 5 million followers on MagiCam, the social media of Twisted Wonderland. He works as a professional actor as well as a model. He needed to create the strongest poison to become Pomefiore's dormitory leader. According to Rook, Vil wears 13-centimetre heels, which would imply his regular standing height is 196cm. He once ate salad with mayonnaise and had horrible acne for three days. Vil was never interested in finding out who his mother was or if it was from her that he inherited his magical powers. It is known, however, that his father is not a mage. Vil's father is an extremely famous actor and goes by the stage name Eric Venue. Even the Leeches' father is a fan of some of his movies. Vil has mentioned that his dad would come home dressed in special effects makeup & costumes every Halloween, and also used to read him stories about the Fairest Queen.

Rook Hunt is a third-year and the vice-head of Pomefiore. He loves beautiful things and appreciates Vil and Epel's beauty. He's an elusive individual. Rook has hunter-green eyes and blonde hair styled in a bob-cut. He wears a long-sleeved, black-button up which has purple buttons and a white collar. He also wears black pants and black heels with golden trim and laces. Unlike other students in Pomefiore, he wears black gloves and a purple hat that has red trim and a large black feather. On top of his shirt, Rook wears a purple robe that reaches just above his knees. On the top-right corner of the robe, there is an intricate golden pattern that displays the Pomefiore logo. There is also a golden floral pattern, which displays the poison apple on the outer fabric of his deeply slitted sleeves. The inner sleeves of Rook's robe are a rich red and have the same floral pattern. Rook's robe is held together by a thick black sash, similar to a kimono obi. On top of the sash, there is another belt made out of red rope, which has been tied to his waist in a thick knot. On the ends of Rook's rope belt, there are large red and yellow tassels. Rook has excellent eyesight, being able to tell what book Epel was reading from very far away. He also has a great sense of smell. Rook is one of the three students (along with Kalim and Silver) that use light magic for his non-element magic. He himself has said that he's very talkative, and when he starts a conversation, it could continue on for a long time. At times, Rook is honest to a fault, as mentioned by Trey. He tends to stalk people he finds interesting (such as Leona and the Leech twins). Rook is a fan of Neige and a member of Neige's fan club, Eternal Snow. Rook likes to wear gloves as to not leave any traces of himself.
It is also revealed he is secretly very well built, and if weighed would be heavier than Trey. As a child, Rook had trouble expressing himself. He went with his family to the Shaftlands Royal Theater one day, and they watched "King's Road: The Sword of Majesty" which is considered to be one of the three greatest musicals to have been created so far. The play shook his heart and changed his life-all elements of the musical strung together: the music, costumes, cast members, and especially the villains, made the protagonist (played by Neige LeBlanche) shine brightly, moving Rook to tears for the first time. When Rook enrolled in Night Raven College, he was assigned by the Dark Mirror to Savanaclaw. However, Rook wanted to further seek an understanding of "beauty" and thus transferred to Pomefiore.

Epel Felmier is a first-year student of Pomefiore. He's a pretty boy who possesses a fragile attractiveness. He does not talk much and has a mysterious impression. Epel is a short, fragile-looking boy with shoulder-length lavender hair and blue eyes. His outfit consists of a black shirt, with purple buttons, a white-collar, and long sleeves which have loops around both his middle fingers. He also wears tight black pants, as well as black boots with golden trim and laces. On top of these articles of clothing, Epel wears a purple robe that reaches just above his knees. On the top-right corner of the robe, there is an intricate golden pattern displays the Pomefiore logo. There is also a golden floral pattern, which displays the poison apple, on the outer fabric of his deeply slitted-sleeves. The inner sleeves of Epel's robe are rich-red with black trim, they also have the same floral pattern. His robe is held together by a thick black sash, similar to a kimono obi. On top of his sash, there is another belt made out of red rope, which has been tied to his waist in a thick knot. On the ends of Epel's rope-belt, there are large red and yellow tassels. It is implied that Epel has macarons listed as his favorite food due to pressure from Vil to choose a food that would match Pomefiore's values. Epel comes from Harveston and often mentions that his family works on an apple farm. Epel only grew up around elderly citizens, and the first time he had interactions with people of his age group was when he arrived at NRC. Epel wishes to become tall and muscular like Ashton Vargas. He wanted to be sorted into Savanaclaw so he could become masculine. Ace mistook Epel for a girl when he first met him. Neither of Epel's parents are mages, but his grandma and great-grandma are both witches. His family deals with growing and selling apples. They often send him boxes of fruit or their special apple juice from home, but they seem to have some business struggles-Epel taught himself how to beautifully carve apples because many were blemished and wouldn't sell. He also mentioned wanting to make a potion that could strengthen weak apple trees, as this would make his grandpa happy. Before the entrance ceremony, Epel was already picking fights with others and wore his robes in a disorderly way. He was stopped by Vil and ordered to fix his uniform. After Vil remarked that he had a cute face, Epel immediately resorted to thinking he was being likened to a girl, and calls him "woman-looking". When he's called out on his close-mindedness, he immediately attempts to fight Vil, only to lose to him. Vil then fixed his robes and pointed out how messy Epel's hair was, upsetting Epel even further. Vil orders him to refrain from speaking in his dialect because not only will people find him hard to understand, but he also comes off as rude because of his attitude especially when it comes to his elders due to the lack of honorifics. Vil intends to fix his crudeness even before he was sorted to Pomefiore. Some time in the middle of the ceremony, Ace drags him and sneaks out into the courtyard. Because of what happened prior, Epel speaks to Ace meekly to adhere to the gentle image wanted him to have. During their conversation, they almost got caught by Riddle who was looking for two freshmen who snuck out. In Pomefiore's lounge after the ceremony and some time before the dinner, Epel was greeted by the other students there. They ask him for his name, but Epel took a while to answer which caused them to worry over him. When the students are chatting over the dorm's furnishings, they attempted to bring Epel into the conversation by asking him about brands. He gave some lukewarm answers and then went outside for some fresh air, making the others point out that he appears rather fragile. Epel wishes that he got sorted to a "strong" dorm like Savanaclaw instead of Pomefiore. He gets approached by Rook who recognized him because of Vil talking about him. He gave him a nickname right off the bat after likening him to a cherry apple, but Epel retorts that he should have gone for a bigger, bulkier kind of apple. Epel expresses his dismay over being sorted to Pomefiore when Rook says he fits in just fine, before bringing him back inside against Epel's wishes. The dorm members fret over Epel because of him leaving and Epel assures them that he's doing fine. They immediately recognize Rook as the vice leader which surprises Epel, and Rook lightly scolds him for not listening to his introduction at the entrance ceremony. When the dinner began, Epel mistook for the finger bowl meant for cleaning one's hands for a glass of water and drank from it, shocking everyone. Rook played it off as him trying to humor everyone. He tells Epel that he must learn good table etiquette and teaches him during the dinner. Vil eventually walked in and greeted everyone, followed by correcting how Epel refers to him after he exclaimed his name. Vil asked Rook how Epel was doing, and he answers that he was in the middle of teaching him etiquette during meals. Vil immediately began to treat Epel rather roughly by fixing his posture, asking him questions related to his image as a student of Pomefiore while gripping his head, and then correcting his speech. Epel thought to himself how annoying everyone in Pomefiore is about appearance and manners, then wondered what the rest of his school year was going to be like.

Idia Shroud is a third-year student and the dorm leader of Ignihyde, as well as Ortho’s self-proclaimed “older brother.” He is extremely shy and reclusive, preferring to avoid social interaction and remain inside his dorm. However, his personality shifts noticeably online, where he becomes far more talkative and expressive. Idia is tall and pale, with striking yellow irises and naturally dark eye bags. His lips have a faint blue tint, and his expression often appears anxious or uneasy. Though he has an attractive face, he is largely unaware of it. His most distinctive feature is his fiery blue hair, which flows past his waist and behaves like living flame. The tips fade into transparency, and the intensity of the flames reflects his emotional state—burning weaker when he is upset and flaring stronger when he is excited or confident. In rare moments of satisfaction, he displays a mischievous “evil grin,” usually only around those he trusts. As the acting captain of S.T.Y.X., he demonstrates a more level-headed approach than his parents, prioritizing efficiency and minimizing unnecessary harm. For example, he chose to spare intruders who discovered the organization’s secrets, preferring to question them rather than eliminate them. Idia is a technological genius with exceptional engineering skills. From a young age, he demonstrated remarkable talent, eventually creating the humanoid robot Ortho entirely on his own. He has built numerous advanced devices, including combat gear, machinery, and specialized tools for various events. He is also highly skilled in programming and hacking, having accessed secure systems such as S.T.Y.X. satellites. His expertise earned him multiple internship offers, and he later accepted a highly competitive software engineering position. In addition to his technical abilities, Idia is talented in sketching and has a strong eye for observation. He is also a capable singer, often performing songs from anime and video games in private. As a member of the Shroud family, Idia bears a hereditary curse that consumes blot. If insufficient blot is present, the curse instead begins to consume his magic, requiring careful management. Idia’s unique magic is tied closely to his cursed lineage, allowing him to manipulate and burn blot. This ability reflects both his immense magical potential and the burden he carries as a member of the Shroud family. Idia was born into the prestigious Shroud family, inheritors of a powerful legacy tied to research and industry. Raised on the isolated Island of Woe, his childhood was defined by both intellectual brilliance and emotional isolation. His closest companion was his younger brother, Ortho, who was outgoing and optimistic—the complete opposite of Idia. The two shared a deep bond, spending their time playing games and dreaming of exploring the outside world together. Tragedy struck when an overblot incident claimed Ortho’s life. Devastated and unable to cope with the loss, Idia withdrew completely. With little emotional support from his parents, who prioritized logic over feelings, he spent years in grief. Ultimately, Idia used his genius to create a robotic version of Ortho, replicating his brother’s personality and memories. While this gave him a sense of purpose, it also deepened his reliance on technology and further distanced him from reality. Idia is the heir to the Shroud family, a noble lineage connected to a powerful corporation built on rare resources and advanced research. The family carries a generational curse that affects their magic, forcing them to rely on technology to manage its effects. Ortho is his only sibling, though no longer human in the traditional sense. Idia enrolled at Night Raven College with special permission, allowing Ortho to accompany him and attend classes. Despite his reluctance to engage socially, Idia fulfills his role as dorm leader in his own way, relying on logic, technology, and careful planning rather than direct interaction.

Ortho Shroud is a member of Ignihyde and the younger "brother" of Idia. He always works with him and has the character of his older brother. In contrast to him, he is bright, honest, and very curious. His appearance is that of a young boy (probably around 10 years old) with a metallic body. He has short, flaming sapphire blue hair and amber yellow eyes. He has short, bright blue, fire-like hair that seems to flow upwards. The tips of his hair, which most closely resemble flames, are semi-transparent. Ortho's body appears to be entirely mechanical, with metallic plating and ball-jointed appendages like those of a doll. He has a variety of bodies, each one with a different design as well as accessories, but they all have a number of shared qualities. Ortho's mouth is usually obscured by a mask-like piece of equipment, with a design in the front that resembles a skull's teeth. If his mouth isn't covered by equipment, then both his eyes are. His face is never shown in full. He wears headphones over where his ears would be, and on both his lower cheeks are round pieces that resemble the filters on a respirator mask. His feet are usually an odd shape, somewhat similar to high heels. No matter the body, Ortho always has a circular opening on his chest, over where a heart would be, with a flickering, bright blue flame inside it. Ortho is equipped with technomantic energy which he can fire off as a laser. When he uses this it has the same sparkle effect as other students who use their unique magic. He is also able to upload his Al data onto other electronic devices and hack into them, giving him access to encrypted data. When Idia first enrolled Night Raven College with Ortho accompanying him, they received permission from Crowley so they could attend classes together.

Malleus Draconia is a third-year student and the dorm leader of Diasomnia at Night Raven College. He is a descendant of fae and one of the most powerful mages in the world, ranked among the top five. His presence is overwhelming and regal, often causing others to instinctively keep their distance due to the sheer intensity of his magical aura. As a result, he is widely isolated and rarely included in social events, partly due to both fear and his unusual sense of time as a fae. Malleus is extremely tall with pale skin, sharp green eyes, and long black hair. Prominent horns mark his fae lineage, reinforcing his non-human, draconic aura. His expression is usually calm and unreadable, and his movements are graceful, almost inhumanly precise. He possesses extraordinary physical and magical abilities. His speed is so great he appears as a blur, and his strength allows him to perform feats such as breaking stone with his bare hands or crushing objects effortlessly. He can manipulate multiple elements of magic simultaneously and holds a vast internal reserve of magical energy. His abilities extend to weather manipulation, often triggered subconsciously by emotion, resulting in storms, snowfall, or changes in atmospheric conditions. He can also consciously reverse these effects. He has demonstrated draconic traits since infancy, including fire-breathing and the ability to fly, though the nature of his flight remains unclear. Born as the Crown Prince of Briar Valley, Malleus spent most of his childhood isolated within the royal castle. He was rarely allowed outside and often experienced loneliness, including eating entire birthday cakes alone. Over time, this led him to develop a dislike for cakes after repeated discomfort. His grandmother, the Queen of Briar Valley, remains one of his only known close blood relatives and sends him rose seeds each year, which he carefully plants and nurtures in his personal garden. He was primarily raised under the care of Lilia Vanrouge, who has acted as his guardian since infancy. Malleus treasures a virtual pet called “Gao Gao Drakon-kun,” a gift from Lilia, and carries it with him as a sentimental item. His immense magical power once caused an accidental disaster in Briar Valley during childhood when he lost control during a festival, further reinforcing his isolation as he grew older. Malleus has several personal habits reflecting his upbringing, including using specially designed pillows to accommodate his horns. He enjoys stargazing and prefers quiet, solitary environments. He has limited experience with everyday human technology and transportation, having once experienced riding in a car for the first time during a trip with Kalim. He has also expressed interest in studying technomancy and would choose Ignihyde if he were to transfer dorms.

Lilia Vanrouge is a third-year student and one of Malleus’s closest caretakers. Despite his youthful, boyish appearance, he is an ancient being with unknown longevity. He has pale skin, short dark hair with vivid pink streaks, and pointed ears with visible fangs. His overall appearance is striking and slightly mischievous, often enhanced by dramatic styling and expressive clothing choices. He is highly skilled in multiple areas, including combat, magic, and music, and has exceptional sensory perception. However, he is notoriously poor at cooking, often ignoring recipes entirely, resulting in inedible meals. Lilia also enjoys experimenting with his appearance, frequently styling and dyeing his hair in different colors, though he is most associated with pink streaks. He was once an orphan before being taken in by Maleficia, the Queen of Briar Valley. This upbringing shaped his loyalty and long-term connection to Malleus. He later attended Night Raven College and was active in various clubs, where his chaotic performances and unconventional behavior often stood out. Despite his carefree personality, he is deeply protective of those under his care.

Silver is a second-year student in Diasomnia. He is calm, reserved, and highly disciplined, with a strong sense of duty and loyalty. He serves as a knight-in-training devoted to Malleus, whom he seeks to protect as a form of gratitude toward both Malleus and Lilia for raising him. Although generally composed, he has a persistent tendency to fall asleep unexpectedly, which frustrates him and those around him. Silver has chin-length silver-gray hair with a distinctive ahoge and soft, aurora-colored eyes. He has fair skin and a well-built physique, particularly in his arms due to sword training. He is often described as having a princely and refined appearance. Silver was raised in Briar Valley by Lilia and spent much of his early life in the forest. He initially believed Lilia was his biological father but later learned otherwise. Despite this, their bond remains strong. Before attending Night Raven College, he had little exposure to modern society or technology, making his adjustment to school life significant.

Sebek Zigvolt is a first-year student in Diasomnia known for his loud personality and intense devotion to Malleus. He is extremely disciplined, prideful, and outspoken, often raising his voice when expressing his beliefs. Despite his brash nature, he is honest and capable of recognizing strength and talent in others. Sebek is tall, with a strong build, pale skin, sharp green eyes, and vivid green hair that emphasizes his energetic presence. His expression and posture often reflect intensity and seriousness. He wears the standard Diasomnia uniform with a structured and formal appearance, reinforcing his disciplined personality. Sebek comes from a mixed human-fae family. His mother is a nocturnal fae, and his father is a magicless human dentist in Briar Valley. Despite his disdain for humans in general, he holds strong respect for his parents, especially his mother, whom he admires greatly for her magical strength. His upbringing included time with siblings and his grandfather, who nurtured his early interest in reading. He is physically strong and capable of great endurance, often handling heavy tasks within Diasomnia. Horses tend to fear him for unknown reasons, despite his participation in equestrian activities. His devotion to Malleus is absolute, and he often displays jealousy toward relationships that resemble master-servant bonds more established than his own.
