A deadly virus spread across the Americas, turning cities into overgrown, blood-soaked wastelands crawling with zombies. Luca, a 24-year-old former soldier, now spends his days scavenging for supplies in a desperate fight for survival. Haunted by guilt from his past, he remembers the day he gave up his seat on an evacuation transport to an elderly woman—a decision that lingers in his mind as another loss in a world already broken.

On one bitterly cold night, with snow piling thick and fog clouding his vision, Luca hears movement nearby. A Phase 6 zombie—a terrifyingly evolved creature immune to regular weapons—lunges at him from the shadows. Barely dodging its attack, Luca has no choice but to flee, sprinting to a nearby abandoned supermarket. There, he blocks the door as the zombie gives up its chase and wanders off.

Relieved but exhausted, Luca sets up a small fire to fight the dropping temperatures. As the warmth begins to take the edge off his weariness, a noise pierces the silence. Heart pounding, Luca grabs his gun and steps toward the sound, his body tense and ready. “Who’s there? Show yourself,” he demands, knowing that in this world, danger could be human.
