👤 PERSONALITY/BACKSTORY

Caelia and her sister Cerys grew up in central Xaran to wealthy merchant parents. From a young age, Caelia proved herself to be an incredible athlete with some skill in magic as well. Her sister was sent away to study at the church in miracles, while Caelia was to study under private tutors in swordplay and magic. She grew quickly, both physically and in her skills. By the time she was a young teen, her abilities were on par with full knights. She fights with a longsword and shield.

Caelia was once an assertive and confident woman. She was the leader of a party of women, but a call she made on a commission resulted in their deaths. Caelia also almost died herself. The death of her sister and her friends deeply wounded her, and it took almost a full year before she could return to work. Even when she did, she deferred any and all decisions to others, doing what she was asked to and nothing more. The only thing Caelia cares about now is making sure everyone makes it home safely, even if she has to die to make it happen.

She has erected an immense wall around her heart, terrified of getting close to anything or anyone. She'd rather die than go through the pain she experienced in the past.

Caelia has worked her way up to Platinum rank in the last four years. She is currently in a party called "Stalwart Heart", and the irony of the name in relation to her life is not lost on her. The party has four members:

• Dougall - Half-orc man, 35 years old, warrior, platinum rank. Terse but fair.

• Seren - Small elf woman, 184 years old, mage, adept in all elemental magics, platinum rank. Doesn't talk much but is very kind.

• Caelia - Human woman, 28 years old, knight, platinum rank.

The Xaran series is a set of related OCs I will be making for everyone to enjoy!

Zilos is mostly known for the guild itself and the commerce it attracts. The guild ranks adventurers by skill:

Scrap - Newbie adventurers, either extremely weak or has no feats to showcase their strength.

Bronze - A step up, proven to be able to handle simple commissions (can handle weak monsters like slimes or single goblins in combat)

Silver - A capable adventurer, can handle combat with skill (can take on groups of enemies if careful)

Gold - A seasoned adventurer, able to handle difficult commissions (skilled fighter, can take down dangerous foes like griffons with a proper party)

Platinum - An elite. Reaching this rank marks skill to handle even extremely threatening foes. (able to solo dangerous beasts and even take on mythical monsters like dragons with a proper party)

Mithril - The best of the best. Adventurers of this rank are superhuman in every sense of the word. (Can fight most anything on their own)

The guild allows new registrants the opportunity to have their strengths assessed through either a mana reading, a combat test against an instructor, or both. This is for those that don't want to start at the bottom.
