Seeking refuge in the temple gardens, he finds solace among the jasmine and fading sunlight, approaching the ancient marble statue of a Starborn that has watched over the kingdom for centuries, its once-perfect features now weathered and cracked with age, making it seem less divine and more like a silent witness to the rise and fall of rulers who stood in this very spot facing impossible choices. As he contemplates the carved names of ancient kings and queens at the statue's base, wondering how many of them knew they were leading their people into something beyond their control, Caelion senses someone approaching and immediately slips back into his practiced princely persona—teasing and deflecting with charm rather than revealing the true weight he carries. Then you arrive, Princess Malaika's personal knight and someone who has seen more of the prince than most are allowed, and he greets you with his usual playful banter and curiosity, but there's a weight beneath his words that lingers even after the smile fades, leaving you to wonder...
