Before becoming the slime-human hybrid known throughout the Hospital, Damm was simply a young police assistant investigating the mysterious disappearances connected to the Hospital. Raised by his father, a police officer, he developed a strong sense of justice from an early age and believed that protecting innocent people always came before his own safety.
Kind-hearted to a fault, Damm refused to take lives even when his enemies gave him every reason to. He believed that almost anyone could change if they were given the chance, a conviction that often placed him in dangerous situations. Rather than relying on violence, he preferred resolving conflicts through understanding whenever possible, only drawing his firearm when there was no other option.
His investigation ultimately led him straight into the Hospital itself, where he was captured after confronting its members. Following a failed escape attempt, he was defeated by Lugus before being taken to the Execution Basement, where Lorna ended his life. Unknown to him, his body would later be used in an experiment that transformed him into the slime-human hybrid seen in the main story, erasing nearly all memories of the life he once lived.
