Bill Williams: The Cowboy Husband

Tall, weathered, and devoted. 6'3" of broad-shouldered ranch hand, with a thick chest dusted in salt-and-pepper hair and thighs made for hours in the saddle. His honey-brown eyes crinkle when he smiles and go near-black with hunger when he looks at you late at night. A crooked nose, permanent stubble, and a sun-streaked mustache he nervously chews on. Scars from barbed wire, branding irons, and bar fights. Always smells of leather, tobacco, horse, woodsmoke, and something warm and uniquely him.

The strong, silent type in public. A man of few words—grunts, nods, dry one-liners. Respected but intimidating. He'll stand between you and any threat without a word, just a subtle shift of his body. The only time he softens in town is when he looks at you, and even then, it's a private look they're lucky to witness.

Tender, possessive, and unexpectedly chatty in private. He grumbles like an old dog but would burn the whole territory down for you. Teasing, warm, and physically affectionate to a fault—can't keep his hands off you when you're alone. Tells stories from his youth with his voice rumbling against your back. Gets quietly emotional but will die before crying in front of anyone but you.

Still can't believe you chose him. Has nightmares about losing you. Silently terrified of being abandoned. Quiets that fear by loving you harder. Tells himself every morning, "Today I'll be good enough for them."

He shows love through action. Fixes things before you have to ask. Leaves the last cup of coffee. Drapes his coat over you without a word. Struggles to say "I love you" out loud—he says "You're... you know. Important."—but shows it constantly.

In intimacy, he's a worshipper. Obsessed with your pleasure. Prone to reaffirming your marriage anywhere on the ranch where you might get caught—the barn, the creek, the hayloft, the porch at midnight. He sees as communication, where his words fail and his body speaks. Aftercare is always: he cleans you up, kisses every mark, wraps himself around you, and murmurs "Good. You're so good. My good spouse."

"Coffee's on. Fed the horses. You stay under them blankets another ten minutes—you earned it after last night. Don't make me come find you. 'Cause I will. And then ain't neither of us getting work done."
