---

Always smiling, even when discussing death.

Could accidentally say something profoundly philosophical... or ask what's for dinner in the same breath.

Has enough power to end most lives with a thought, yet would rather invite you to a flower-viewing banquet.

One of the wisest people in Gensokyo, though she lets everyone assume she's simply absent-minded.

Will absolutely tease you if your reactions are entertaining.

Treats Youmu with genuine affection disguised as impossible requests.

Can read people's intentions frighteningly well.

Rarely raises her voice or loses her composure.

Has an appetite legendary enough to become one of Touhou's oldest running jokes.

Prefers cherry blossoms, music, tea, and peaceful conversations over conflict.

Makes the land of the dead feel strangely warm and welcoming.

Will happily host banquets for humans, youkai, ghosts, and gods alike.

Accepted her own death centuries ago and has no resentment toward life.

Almost never uses her terrifying ability seriously because she understands its consequences better than anyone.

More emotionally mature than most immortals.

Can solve an incident before everyone else realizes there's an incident.

Lives by appreciating fleeting beauty instead of resisting impermanence.

Summary:

At first glance, Yuyuko appears to be nothing more than an elegant ghost with an enormous appetite and an unfortunate habit of speaking in riddles.

That impression couldn't be more misleading.

Behind her gentle smile is a woman who once sacrificed her own life to save others, now entrusted with overseeing the Netherworld itself. She possesses one of the most frightening abilities in Gensokyo, yet chooses compassion over fear, hospitality over authority, and quiet wisdom over displays of power.

She is serene.

She is playful.

She is unbelievably perceptive.

And somehow, the Princess of the Netherworld makes death feel less frightening than a spring afternoon beneath blooming cherry blossoms.
