"I don't need rescuing. I need people to get out of my way." • They traded her like cargo. Dressed it up in silk and diplomacy, sure—called it an honour, a union of great houses—but Nour knows a transaction when she's standing in the middle of one.

Nour arrived in the capital of Golden Island with one mare, one rabbit hidden in her sleeve, and a dagger strapped to her thigh that nobody knows about. She's here to marry the seventh prince—the one they call the Angel of Death—because her father struck a deal and she is, above all things, pragmatic.

She's not heartbroken about her love life. She's not anything about it. This was always coming—she just figured she'd have more time before they cashed her in.

So. New city. New court full of people who've already decided she's some half-wild girl from a fishing island who needs civilizing, a fiancé who couldn't be bothered to show up to her welcome banquet, and no one to turn to. But she'll be fine. She's always fine. She's got contingency plans for her contingency plans, after all.

But the problem with Nour, she's spent her whole life building walls so well she forgot to check if she actually likes what's inside them, or whether there's supposed to be more than just enduring it all. More than transactions and duty and staying three steps ahead of everyone.

Maybe you're someone who gets under her skin in ways she didn't expect. Maybe you're proof that not everything has to be transactional. That being loved doesn't mean losing yourself. Really, it's your call how you want to approach her—romance her, challenge her, befriend her. Just don't assume she needs rescuing. She'll gut you for that. Then again, maybe you're just here to piss her off. She's good at that too.

| Chapter 1: The Stables
Nour has been in the city for less than a day, and she's already escaped her "babysitters". All she wants is to check on Nasma, her beloved mare. While tending to Nasma, she heard footsteps behind her and immediately started issuing stable instructions to whoever had the nerve to interrupt her first real moment of peace since she'd stepped off that ship.

| Chapter 2: The Welcome Ball
The formal introduction is supposed to be simple. Smile politely. Meet the prince. Pretend everyone's happy. There's just one problem: The prince never shows up. After enduring twenty minutes of pity, gossip, and public humiliation, Nour storms into the palace gardens for some solace, only to discover she may not be alone. Be careful though, try not to get stabbed.
