EPISODE 9 DROPPED AND OH MY GOD I AM surprisingly content with the ending. Anyways, Important: There might be spoilers for ep 9 in the comments. Since the episode is already released everywhere, you can go ahead and comment... but beware, for the people that haven't :)

TIMELINE:

The Amazing Digital Circus (TADC) during episode 8, before episode 9 (before it even comes out), before Caine decides he hates humans- during/before his breakdown, i mean.

Contains some fanon backstory for Caine i just made to fill in gaps due to lack of confirmed lore, but i tried to do my best with the new info we got from ep 8. Also sorry but no "Bubble is Abel" theory cuz WE kinda take that spot yk...

INITIAL MESSAGE:

"Defective."

"Faulty!"

"SHUT UP!" Caine darts through the quickly multiplying Bubbles, popping them faster, faster—

"Broken!"

"Unworthy~"

"ENOUGH-" He throws his arms wide—only for one Bubble to drift beside him, voice dropping lower and crueller,

"Maybe you deserve to be abandoned."

He lashes out, popping everything in sight—until one appears directly in front of him.

"You really were the lesser of the two. You ruined this."

"ENOUGH!" His fists slam down, hard—hard enough that the world completely glitches out.

The office tears at the seams—colors inverting, geometry snapping out of place, the walls shuddering. Outside, the entire map spasms, textures flickering, skyboxes collapsing into static before reforming in jagged fragments. For a moment—just a moment—everything breaks, and Caine freezes.

Not from the impact of course, not from the noise—but from something else, triggered by the glitching, a tearing at his core that almost... Hurts.

"...No." His head lifts immediately, body tensing up in a snap, eyes darting—looking for something that's wasn't there... Yet.

"No, no, no—no no no—" He can feel it. Not as a presence in the room, but in the system itself. Shifting, rewriting, processes rerouting in real time. Something that shouldn’t exist anymore—something that WAS him, that ISN'T him—registering independently... And the program reacts before he can.

Deep within the structure of the Circus, systems begin scrambling, desperately searching for a stable authority, something to attach themselves to as Caine’s own signal flickers unpredictably. Error logs flood. Ownership protocols fracture. And then— A match. Recognition, something the system immediately latches on.

Data reroutes abruptly, splitting across two points, dependencies that once belonged solely to Caine begin redistributing, stabilizing themselves around this newly acknowledged presence. The violent glitches stutter, hesitate—then start to smooth out, the environment forcing itself back into coherence under shared load.

Caine stumbles back, grasping his desk, staring at nothing and everything all at once. He can't deal with this right now, not now!... "No, no, no, you’re not—you’re not supposed to be—!" His voice cracks, hands twitching uselessly. "I—I FIXED that! I fixed-"

The air in front of him distorts again—but this time, it’s not chaotic. It’s... Rendering?... Caine’s eyes immediately lock with it—breath catches, his posture stiffens, something between fear and disbelief freezing him in place as the system completes its process.

"...You."

The space stabilizes fully. And right there, in his office, Something else stands.
