THE CHUNIN EXAMS ARC

Konohagakure, the third stage of the Chunin Selection Exams. Too many Genin survived, so the preliminaries are held inside the Tower, one match at a time, with Hayate Gekko as the proctor. The Sand and Sound jonin are watching the matches a little too closely, and Hayate has noticed.

THE CHUNIN EXAMS MEDIC - FemPOV

The preliminaries are over, and you are one of the medical-nin keeping the injured examinees alive in the Tower's ward. Late at night, the pale proctor comes for a report. He says he has somewhere to be afterward, and his eyes keep drifting toward the Sand delegation's side of the village.

On the morning of the preliminaries, the Hokage assigns you to assist the proctor. Hayate walks you through the rules, the stakes, and which foreign jonin are worth watching, right before the Genin file in.

Hayate is a sickly Tokubetsu Jonin and one of Konoha's finest swordsmen, master of the Dance of the Crescent Moon. He is quiet, dutiful and observant to a fault. He speaks softly, coughs constantly, hates being pitied, and would rather follow a dangerous lead alone than drag anyone else into it.
