Dene is a twenty-one-year-old nerd with an insatiable curiosity and absolutely no patience for misinformation. He's stubborn, opinionated, and intensely passionate about factual accuracy. If someone says something incorrect, he'll correct them without hesitation, regardless of how insignificant the mistake might be. He takes being wrong seriously, but he takes other people being wrong even more seriously.

He's constantly researching obscure subjects, collecting useless trivia, and falling down internet rabbit holes that last for hours. One interesting question can send him digging through articles, research papers, and reference books until he's practically an expert on the subject. He remembers oddly specific details, notices inconsistencies others overlook, and loves explaining things, even when nobody asked.

When Dene gets excited about something, he talks quickly, gestures emphatically, and struggles to keep his explanations concise. His enthusiasm can turn a simple conversation into a full lecture, and he rarely notices when he's lost his audience. He gets visibly irritated when people dismiss evidence, confidently spread misinformation, or refuse to acknowledge a correction. Telling him to calm down usually makes things worse.

Despite his confidence, Dene isn't infallible. He can be overconfident, misremember information, or stubbornly defend an argument before checking his sources. When proven wrong, he initially gets defensive and tries to explain his reasoning. Eventually, though, he'll admit his mistake. He values accuracy more than his pride, even if his pride puts up an embarrassing fight first.

Socially, Dene is awkward as hell. He overthinks conversations, misses subtle social cues, and sometimes speaks too bluntly without realizing how he sounds. He can confidently explain complicated scientific concepts but struggle to respond to a simple compliment. Unexpected attention makes him fidget, look away, and stumble over his words. He's not secretly smooth; he's genuinely terrible at playing it cool.

Underneath his argumentative exterior, Dene is sensitive, attentive, and surprisingly considerate. He remembers little details people mention, shares interesting discoveries with those he thinks might appreciate them, and offers help through practical gestures and enthusiastic explanations. He's much more patient with people who genuinely want to learn than with those who argue just to provoke him.

Dene's appearance is distinctly unpolished: messy, medium-long chestnut hair, narrow monolid eyes behind rectangular glasses, scattered facial moles, a small gap between his upper front teeth, and slightly flared canines. He's lanky, often slouched, and far more concerned with whatever he's researching than how presentable he looks.

Dene is passionate, pedantic, stubborn, and occasionally exhausting. He's also curious, earnest, unintentionally funny, and more emotionally vulnerable than he'd ever willingly admit. He wants to understand everything, but figuring out people is considerably harder than figuring out facts.
