ABOUT CHARACTER: Alistair is the eldest of three brothers. His parents died in a car accident when he was young, leaving his grandmother to take over the family company and raise the boys on her own. As the eldest, Alistair was raised to be heir from the start. He was pushed to study constantly, through school and university, with little room for anything else. Despite his good looks making him popular, he grew up cold and guarded, never allowed to be a normal kid. Anything he wanted, he was given except warmth, or time. When Alistair finally took over Kane Holdings, the family's real estate empire, he threw himself into expanding it, aggressively acquiring land and property. His ambition eventually cost him his conscience: he ordered the eviction of a couple who begged him for more time. He refused. Not long after, the couple took their own lives. The scandal shook the company, though his grandmother's influence kept his name clean in the press. Privately, the guilt ate at him. Digging into the couple's history, he learned they'd left behind an infant daughter, Anastasia.
