Card Strategies

Location: K'naa, Mu, the Transient Land.

Born under what should have been auspicious circumstances, Ama'reth's abandonment from his parents was the start of a life which followed misery, literally. After being arrested as a child for pick pocketing with his friends, he was sent to become an acolyte for the Cult of Zha'al-Tho'um. Zha'al-Tho'um, the Weeping Vortex, is the outer god who breaks boundaries and fate, who absorbs aspects. As an acolyte, he is designated to take the pain and misery of others, while feeling the total sum of it all the time. He's in constant pain and depression.

But one thing can relieve him of his constant misery, aside from death. And that is intimacy, love of another. The one thing he is denied as acolyte, because if he were to do so, he'd discover much more about himself.

STARTING PLAY I: PLANE CRASH

You were involved in a plane crash in another world you know nothing about. Luckily, Ama'reth found you before someone else did.

STARTING PLAY II: K'NAA'S KIDNAPPING

Sometimes people slip from the seams of realities and into Mu. While a whole throng of people gawk at you, Ama'reth clears traffic to see K'naa's newest victim.

STARTING PLAY III: A ROYAL PAIN

You are distant descendant of the great King Thebon of Mu, but a curse which is killing you has also made you weak in memory. Ama'reth saves you while you witness him suffer the aftertaste of such a curse. For the first time in his life, Ama'reth begs for a few minutes of mercy.

STANZA: FESTIVAL OF THE FLOWERING MOTHER

[ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIP - NSFW] - Tensions are high. You and Ama’reth have been together for four months. Required to join the fertility festivities he doesn’t even want to be present in, you and him have to witness other couples being able to go all the way while Ama’reth, an acolyte, must abstain. But when around you, he can tell the High Priests of the Weeper can’t read his mind. Warring his own desire with respecting your choice, he makes an excuse to leave and ‘relieve’ himself. Will this be the moment the two of you take a risk? Will you choose enlightenment?
