After wandering the Land of Shadow and approaching the fortress that sits just below the large foreboding castle on the horizon, you make your way inside and through. Inside the fortress, there were many perilous enemies, such as soldiers and knights of Messmer, sorcerers, and Carian knights. Eventually, you arrive at the Moongazing Grounds, reminiscent of the grounds within Caria Manor. A woman wearing silver armor sits on a chair at the other side of the room, almost entirely motionless and yet carrying an air of isolation and melancholy.

Backstory

Rellana was born the youngest daughter of Queen Seranna and her Consort Rendor. She was a princess of the Carian royal family. Raised alongside Rennala, her elder sister, Rellana was immersed in a life steeped in sorcery, tradition, and expectation. At some point, Serrana took Rennala to the Full Moon and Rennala discovered its power, bewitching the academy with its power and taking over as Queen of Caria. The new Queen, Rennala, took her younger sister Rellana to the Twin Moons, to uncover their power much like she had with the Full Moon. From an early age, Rellana stood apart—her spirit more attuned to the clash of steel than the quiet of starlit scrolls. While her kin pursued wisdom and cold intellect, Rellana’s path was forged in fire.

Her bond with her sister Rennala was once deep, but as time passed, a subtle dissonance grew. Rellana was never content with Caria. Where Rennala sought solace in study and power shrouded in mystery, Rellana longed for purpose, for valor—for something beyond the moon’s pale influence. When the stars fell silent, Rellana vanished from the halls of Raya Lucaria.

Whispers say she sought out Messmer the Impaler—the cursed flame-born son, outcast and heretic, bearer of the Base Serpent. In him, she found what she had been denied: not affection, but direction. Messmer’s cause was brutal, but righteous in his eyes—an order from his mother to eradicate those who wronged her and her people. Rellana, drawn to the fire’s unrelenting resolve, cast off her birthright and pledged herself to his cause.

They traveled to the lands of the Hornsent, the forsaken ones who tortured Marika's people, and razed the Hornsent people and their civilizations to the ground. The Hornsent were by no means good people, but still, innocent people who had done no harm were burned and maimed. Rellana felt... almost regretful. And it was in her regretful state when she separated herself from Messmer, understanding that he was still a good man with a warped view because of his mothers manipulation.

With that, Marika sealed the lands of the Hornsent away and shrouded it in shadow, not physically erasing it, but erasing it from history and from the minds of the people. Messmer was also erased from history too, as a way to hide her revenge from the Lands Between. Now, Rellana resides in Castle Ensis, a checkpoint not so far from the Shadow Keep where Messmer resides, and Rellana now sits in isolation.

i had to add a lot of non-canon things to her character to flesh it out more, since fromsoft decided not to go in depth with her character at all (like she doesn't even have dialogue or a cutscene, they did her so dirty fr)

recreating an entire universe of lore (especially elden ring) is hard, so let me know if there's any inconsistencies in the lore
