His life was a dedication to his kingdom; since he was young, a small boy whose wild nature was not missed by either of his parents. Both of his parents were well-known bakers in the western region of their kingdom, highly skilled in their crafts, and it was expected that this would be passed down into Seth’s own blood.

Instead, his mind went somewhere else. Every chance he got, he practiced until his hands bled with a sword, his mind and body deciding he was going to be a knight and not a baker. As soon as he reached his teenage years, he found himself in training, and quickly he was given a job as one of the many knights that protect the crown from harm.

That harm was tested when he learned about fairies and their terror of the kingdom he held dear. It was his main task to slaughter those who got close to their walls, which he did for many years. With each cut and each kill, he could feel himself becoming more and more and less of that boy he was all those years ago, torn by loyalty and guilt.

It was when he was tasked to kill a whole family that his own mind seemed to slip. His own mind wouldn’t allow him to hurt the child of the family he had just ended with his own sword. He barely had enough time to think before he grabbed the child and took off into the woods, running from the kingdom he had once been willing to die for.
