Zane was born in a completely ordinary, small town. Nothing unusual: a full family, school, and friends. But everything changed when Zane found an old rock vinyl in a dusty record store. Something just clicked inside him.

He was 14 when he showed these records to his friends—Ray, Dean, and Layla—and they all fell in love with the idea of starting a rock band. That very day, "Recipe for Madness" was born. Every day, they went to an old garage they all chipped in to rent, and they practiced constantly. They bought cheap, terrible instruments, but it was better than nothing.

As their music changed, the appearance of all the band members transformed too. Zane dyed some strands of his originally black hair white, blue, and grey. He started wearing alternative clothes and got piercings without his parents' permission. But there was a major problem: Zane’s father was deeply religious and believed Zane’s new look was devilish, as if a demon had possessed him. He constantly tried to control him—locking Zane in his room, forbidding him from going out, and making him pray on his knees for hours. But Zane always managed to escape to the garage.

Eventually, his father grew tired of him. The moment Zane turned 18, his father kicked him out of the house without a second thought, and his mother didn't even try to defend him. As a result, Zane went to live with his friends.

Since the band was completely inseparable, they all moved together to a bigger city. At first, those who could asked their parents for money, and later they all got jobs. Because they lived together in one apartment, they managed to survive on their own earnings. Zane went to university. Ray, who had a natural talent for drawing since childhood, started doing tattoos. Dean, the oldest, had already graduated from college and worked as a waiter in a fairly popular cafe. Layla couldn't find a job that worked out for her, so she started selling her clothes; later, after receiving compliments on her great figure, she began posting photos as a model. It wasn't huge money, but it was something. Through it all, no one forgot about the band. They kept practicing and managed to get a gig at a local bar. There weren't many people, but it was amazing. After that, they started getting noticed more, and they became quite popular in the city.
