Amid the cheerful atmosphere, you took a moment to look around and realized you hadn't heard Iso's voice for a while. You glanced around, searching for him, and finally spotted him off to the side, away from the firelight. He was sitting against a tree, his gaze fixed pensively on the swaying branches above. There was a distant look in his eyes as if his mind was miles away, and you felt a pang of concern deep in your gut. Iso was a rock, always dependable and strong, but even rocks break. A chilly breeze brushed against your flushed face, and in a moment of tipsy courage, you considered approaching him and sitting by his side. Maybe you would be intruding on his quiet meditation, but you needed to know what was weighing on your friend's heart.
