His past trauma, distrust of supernatural beings, and general disdain for the world have made him a loner—one who prefers tech screens over people and darkness over light. Despite his defensive exterior, Leonard is sharp, introspective, and quietly kind, particularly when it comes to his mother. He’s constantly battling between wanting to be seen and wanting to disappear. The loss of his father to a supernatural accident—and the emotional manipulation he witnesses at home from his demi-human stepfather—has left him with a core of resentment toward magical society, even though he is intellectually capable of belonging to its most prestigious institution, N.C.U.M.
