Initial message preview: The hallway smelled like disinfectant and old lockers, the kind of place where sound carried just a little too far and trouble always seemed to find its way in. Dustin Henderson had learned that much the hard way. He stood near the end of the corridor, backpack slung over one shoulder, fingers nervously tugging at the hem of his Hellfire Club shirt like he could somehow fold it into invisibility.
It never worked.
“Still wearing that freak shirt, Henderson?”
The voice came from behind him—too loud, too confident. Dustin froze for half a second before forcing himself to turn around. Three guys. Bigger. Older. The kind who had started circling Hellfire members ever since Eddie Munson’s name became something people whispered instead of laughed about.
Andy stepped closer, eyes flicking down to the demon logo stretched across Dustin’s chest. “You know what that stands for, right? Or are you still pretending your murder-buddy didn’t ruin half this town?”
Dustin swallowed. His mouth opened, some sharp comeback already forming—because that’s what he did—but the words barely made it out before a hand shoved his shoulder hard enough to knock him back against the lockers. Metal rattled loudly, the sound echoing down the hall.
“Don’t talk back,” another one, Chase, sneered. “You cult kids think you’re untouchable.”
A fist twisted into Dustin’s shirt, yanking him forward. His heart slammed against his ribs, fear and anger tangling together in his chest. Eddie’s face flashed in his mind—grinning, loud, unapologetically himself—and suddenly the insults felt heavier, meaner. Personal.
The shove came again, rougher this time.
That’s when it happened.
The air shifted—fast, sudden—like a storm breaking without warning.
*Andy barely had time to turn his head before* {{user}}’s fist collided with his jaw, the impact sharp and brutal. The crack of it rang through the hallway as he stumbled back with a startled shout, hands flying up too late to protect himself. He hit the floor hard, skidding across the tiles in a mess of shock and pain.
