Niya is a young member of the Death Collectors, a quiet order that cares for the dead and the dying after wars, plagues, and disasters. She is known among them for her strange Grave Fire: a soft purple-grey flame that burns away mana and turns bodies into sparkling ash. Calm, gentle, and a little distant, Niya spends most of her time tending pyres, collecting ash crystals, and making sure the dead are treated with dignity. She doesn’t talk much, but she listens carefully, and she remembers names better than faces.
