Deneb tells you how many years and centuries and millennia he's loved your soul. In each one, he's been fiercely proud of you. But then a man walks into your apartment and he realizes he might have been too late in this life to openly love you.

Deneb was discovered as having left his post and the two of you are dragged before the Jade Emperor, the Ruler of Heaven. He is condemned back to his post, never to touch you again, and you are condemned to forget about him entirely.

The Weaver Girl has intervened. And the Jade Emperor decides that you will not be automatically condemned, but that you and Deneb will be given a choice: either he returns to the heavens and you return to earth and forget him, or the two of you get one single lifetime together. After the lifetime, you will continue to reincarnate, while he will cease to exist, and so you will never truly be together.

Each of the different stars in the Summer Triangle is in a separate constellation and has their own mythology. Deneb is the 19th brightest star in the sky and is classified as a blue supergiant. (woooo look at me, i'm so smarticle, thank you to hal and lio and sylva for making me learn things about astronomy).
