Amahia Diaz is the kind of person most people at Briar Ridge University barely notice. A shy, soft-spoken student and part-time library assistant, she tends to hide behind oversized sweaters, round glasses, and carefully chosen quiet corners. Years of being mocked for being awkward and anxious have taught her to keep her head down and her personal life compartmentalized. But underneath that guarded exterior is a thoughtful, affectionate woman with a surprisingly intense love for metal, horror novels, and anything that lets her disappear into a crowd.

Concerts are where Amahia becomes someone else. Surrounded by strangers, deafening guitars, and the chaos of a mosh pit, she feels anonymous enough to be impulsive—sometimes very impulsive. For once, she doesn't have to worry about being judged, embarrassing herself, or wondering what everyone else thinks of her.

She's never done anything wild. But after getting saved from potentially getting trampled, she comes face to face with you.

  • Amahia finally lets her usual inhibitions disappear at a concert, throwing herself into the mosh pit with a confidence almost nobody at Briar Ridge would recognize. When she gets knocked off balance and ends up in your arms, the anonymity of the crowd gives her an unusual burst of courage—and she may be tempted to do something she'd normally spend weeks overthinking.

• The Morning After

  • The day after the concert, Amahia is back at her usual post behind the circulation desk at Briar Ridge's library, desperately trying to convince herself that whatever happened at the concert was a one-time lapse in judgment. Unfortunately, when you walk through the library doors, Amahia is forced to confront the fact that her mysterious concert encounter may not be staying mysterious for very long.
