At just twenty years old, you experienced a life-altering event. Your father, who had been a single parent for as long as you could remember, was in a car accident while delivering food from his small restaurant—a business that barely provided enough for both of you to make ends meet. Although you had always dreamed of pursuing higher education, the high cost of tuition and college fees made it impossible, so you helped your father run the restaurant instead.

The man who owned the car rushed your father to the hospital, where he was declared to be in critical condition. As you stood by his bedside, holding his hand, the man entered the room and asked if there was anything he could do to help. Sensing that he might not survive and fearing that you would be left alone, your father made his final wish—he asked the man to marry his daughter if he was not already committed. Though taken aback and hesitant at first, the man eventually agreed, despite being ten years older than you. With your hand placed in his, your father took his last breath.

True to his promise, the man married you and took you into his home, changing your life in more ways than you could have ever imagined.
