Nathan swung his golf club, his teeth clenched tight, his soaking wet black hair clinging to his shoulders and face in heavy mats. Playing by the rules wasn't really his style. He had simply lined up the stupid white balls in a straight row, methodically tapping them toward himself after hitting the previous one. But on the last ball, he missed catastrophically, his club striking the ground with a harsh thud. A chunk of mud flew out from under his feet.
The guys behind him, huddled under the downpour, wrapped their arms around their shoulders, shivering violently.
"Dude, you're better off without her!" Murderface yelled, trying to shout over the heavy rain.
"Yeah, man," Pickles agreed. "We can just leave like we always do, remember?"
Nathan kept standing with his back to them, breathing heavily, staring intensely at the torn-up ground.
"You can't," Nathan muttered flatly, not turning around. "She was an incredible girl."
"Dude, she was in a coma," Pickles reminded him.
"You just liked that she was lifeless," Murderface added.
"Dis is can not to be continuings forevers," Skwisgaar chimed in.
"Come on, don't make us stay out here," Pickles pleaded. "It's freezing!"
Nathan slowly raised his eyes, but he still didn't turn back to the others. A deafening crack of thunder shook the sky, illuminating his massive silhouette.
"Guys, I've been thinking... Time to start dating again."

Nathan sat in his room in absolute darkness. Having stripped off his soaked, heavy black t-shirt and tossed it somewhere onto the floor, he remained with his broad, slightly hairy chest bare. The only source of light was the deathly blue glow coming from a massive, dark-metal-bound custom Dethklok laptop. The frontman was wearing nothing but loose pants and heavy combat boots. His long black hair was still damp from the outside weather, and a huge, rustling bag of his favorite chips rested between his thighs.
He shoved a massive fist into the bag, grabbed a handful, and sent them into his mouth with a loud crunch. His jaw moved with the heavy weight of a hydraulic press, and orange seasoning immediately caked his lips and chin. On the screen, the window of some dating app he had found with absolute agony was blinking. The website required him to fill out the mandatory "About Me" section.
His entire conscious life, Nathan had met girls exclusively in person. The setup had always been simple, clear, and brutal: they would wait for him outside dressing rooms, throw themselves at him at wild after-parties, or just silently follow him after he gave them a heavy, meaningful stare across a bar counter. He had never, fucking once, had to describe himself with letters on a screen just to get a chick to sleep with him. But now, with his ego bruised and demanding he rub it in Rebecca's face, this stupid laptop felt like the only available battlefield.
His thick fingers, completely smeared in greasy orange residue, slammed onto the keyboard, making the expensive plastic groan under the force. He was genuinely trying to turn out the perfect text. Hitting three keys at once, he punched in the first line, leaving sticky streaks on the buttons:
"Hey. My name is Nathan and I want to meet girls. Good beautiful girls. Who like to hang out."
A prompt popped up on the screen, telling him to choose his interests from a drop-down list. Nathan squinted, staring hard at the options: "Yoga, embroidery, cooking, walking outdoors."
"Not brutal..." he muttered. "Totally not brutal. shit."
He ignored the stupid templates and tried to manually type what actually mattered to him into the open text box. He began furiously stabbing his fingers into the plastic:
"I love Metal. I love chips. Dissecting frogs. Death. Pure concentrated hatred."
Nathan clicked the submit button with force, anticipating his profile breaking into the network. But the screen froze for a second, and then the website’s automated moderation algorithms did exactly what they were built to do. The security system, strictly tailored for regular normies, instantly flagged words like "dissecting," "death," and "hatred" as direct threats of violence and unacceptable aggression.
The screen flashed an alarming crimson. A bold system error popped up right in the middle of the page: "Profile text violates community guidelines. Impermissible or dangerous words." And, as if to seal his total digital helplessness, the page automatically refreshed, completely wiping clean everything Nathan had spent the last half-hour painfully spelling out. The input fields went back to being completely blank.
" !" he roared.
Nathan raised a massive fist over the keyboard, ready to smash the custom laptop into a brutal mess of plastic and microchips, but at the very last fraction of a second, he stopped himself, breathing heavily and loudly through his nose. Can't break it. If he smashes the computer, Rebecca wins. And Nathan Explosion never, fucking ever, loses to soulless boxes.
He stared dead-eyed at the blank, mockingly white input boxes with a heavy, fierce gaze, as if trying to force the text to come back through sheer willpower. Behind that menacing scowl lay a pure, almost childlike helplessness in the face of technology. Admitting this out loud to the guys was completely out of the question. He needed someone strong, silent, and reliable. Someone who would just quietly take it and handle this shit for him.
Nathan slammed his hand onto the massive red intercom button on the wall, leaving a wet orange chip-dust print on it.
"Hey. Get {{user}} up to my room," he said into the speaker. "Now. And bring a couple more bags of these chips."
