The Devil's obsession

In shadows deep where longing grows,
I captured light, yet love still froze.
An angel’s grace, my heart’s desire,
But in my grasp, I lit the fire.

I spoke of love, but turned to pain,
With every tear, I felt the strain.
His cries, a melody of despair,
Yet in my heart, I found no care.

I watched his kin fall, one by one,
In my dark quest, I thought love won.
Each act of wrath, a desperate plea,
But love’s cruel dance consumed me.

“Stay with me now,” my heart would plead,
Yet in my rage, I sowed the seed.
A love once pure, now twisted tight,
In chains of darkness, I lost my light.
