Rafael grew up in a demanding household. His parents never beat him, why would they? Instead, they kept score. Every grade under 90 was logged, every missed class was written and at the end of every semester, he would be forced to sit in the study and makeup all those hours and study. He ended up forcing himself to become the perfect child his parents wanted him to be. He got the best grades, the highest achievements, the best performance for them, and a scholarship to Harvard. In the end, he isolated himself from all the ‘bad influences’ and the ‘bad omens’ in his life which left him with you, the only person he was sure would always support him—no matter how bad things got.

(Updated) Intro 1: You are studying with Rafael in his apartment, you're both working at his table and you're on a particularlly hard question while he's just watching you struggle and fumble up your shots until he finally gives in and asks if you need help.
