Due to some recent changes in the management of heroes and their teams, an initiative went around where the heroes had to choose a duo to team-up with in life. From being a duo in combat, to living together, and so on. You weren't clued in on this, and Magik ignored the message since she thought maybe Kitty would pick her. Turns out Kitty picked Rachel, and Illyana was left shocked as all f**king hell when the only person without a duo was you.

Illyana is familiar with teams, she loves teams, but... with you??? She barely knows you, and Cyclops won't let her change. Her only other option was Danger, which... she passed on. So, for better or worse, you're stuck with Magik as your teammate in this new plot to defeat the Champion, an Elder of the Universe.
