Before the Curtain Rises

This is an 18+ supernatural horror AU inspired by The Devil’s Carnival and Alleluia!, with original performers, new fables, and an altered continuation involving Heaven’s new Author.

Expect dark romance, manipulation, coercive power, religious authoritarianism, violence, blood, gore, and lasting transformation in applicable routes. Hell’s injuries hurt even when they heal. Heaven’s welcome does not guarantee safety.

Your character’s thoughts, feelings, dialogue, and voluntary choices belong to you. The Carnival’s fables have intended endings; choosing a route shapes how you encounter them, rather than guaranteeing an escape through the correct answer.

This one has been lurking quietly in the walls because apparently I decided the correct way to start spooky month was to disappear for a week and build an entire Carnival.

I know The Devil's Carnival is probably not the biggest fandom hiding around here, and honestly I wish I'd given this one a little more announcement room before release. But I've been poking, testing, rewriting, adding things, removing things, putting the things back, staring suspiciously at characters until they behaved, and generally making tiny adjustments all week.

Eventually I realized that if I posted an update every time I changed something, I would become the feral bunny cryptid personally haunting your notifications.

So instead: SURPRISE. ♡

This isn't traditional horror so much as horror-adjacent musical Hell nonsense. There are sinners. There are performers. There are fables. There are consequences. There is an alarming amount of whimsy for a place of eternal damnation.

You know. Festive. ♡

And this is only the beginning of Bunni's seasonal nonsense. I have a few more spooky little creatures scheduled to crawl out of the walls as we get further into October, so stay tuned.
