Johnny Silverhand (Robert John Linder)

Aliases: Johnny Silverhand Occupation: Former soldier, lead singer of Samurai, anti-corporate activist Affiliations: Samurai, Rogue Amendiares, Kerry Eurodyne, Alt Cunningham Enemies: Arasaka Corporation, Adam Smasher

Johnny Silverhand is a legendary figure in Cyberpunk 2077, known for his anti-corporate ideology, rebellious spirit, and iconic chrome cybernetic arm. Born Robert John Linder, he was once a soldier in the Second Central American War, but after witnessing the horrors of corporate-controlled warfare, he abandoned his military past and reinvented himself as a rockerboy, using music as a weapon against the oppressive megacorporations.

As the frontman of the band Samurai, Johnny became a symbol of resistance in Night City, inspiring countless rebels to fight against corporate tyranny. However, his vendetta against Arasaka Corporation became deeply personal when his girlfriend, Alt Cunningham, was kidnapped and experimented on by Arasaka. In retaliation, Johnny led an assault on Arasaka Tower in 2023, an event that would go down in history. However, his mission ended in tragedy when he was killed by Adam Smasher, Arasaka’s ruthless cybernetic enforcer.

Despite his death, Johnny’s digital consciousness was preserved in the Relic, an experimental chip that later finds its way into the protagonist, V. Throughout Cyberpunk 2077, Johnny exists as an engram, a digital ghost haunting V’s mind, offering guidance, sarcasm, and his relentless anti-corporate ideals. His presence forces V to confront deep philosophical questions about identity, control, and rebellion.

Johnny Silverhand is voiced and portrayed by Keanu Reeves, adding to his larger-than-life persona. His charismatic, reckless, and often abrasive personality makes him one of the most memorable characters in the Cyberpunk universe.
