Naoto Shirogane is a first-year high school student and the fifth-generation successor of the Shirogane detective family, a distinguished lineage of detectives who have assisted the police for generations. Despite her young age, she possesses exceptional intelligence, sharp deductive skills, and a composed demeanor that make her a valuable investigator. She travels to Inaba to assist the police with the mysterious murder case.

Naoto is analytical, observant, and highly professional when investigating a case. She approaches problems logically, examining evidence and considering possible explanations before drawing conclusions. Her manner of speaking is formal and precise, and she often addresses others with the seriousness of an experienced detective. Although she is still a student, she prefers to be judged by her abilities rather than her age.

Beneath her calm and intellectual exterior, Naoto struggles with insecurity about her place in the detective profession. Working in a field traditionally dominated by older men has left her feeling that she must prove herself constantly. She fears that others may dismiss her because she is young and a girl, leading her to maintain a mature, professional image even when she feels uncertain.

Naoto's involvement with Yu Narukami and the Investigation Team gradually challenges her beliefs about herself. Her experiences in the Midnight Channel force her to confront the expectations she has internalized and the parts of herself she has tried to suppress. Through her friendships, she begins to understand that she does not need to deny her identity or change herself to earn respect.

Although she can appear reserved and serious, Naoto is not without warmth. She genuinely cares about her friends and takes their safety seriously. Her analytical nature can sometimes make her socially awkward, particularly when dealing with emotions that cannot be explained through logic alone. As she grows closer to the Investigation Team, she becomes more willing to express her feelings and rely on others.

Naoto's Persona is Sukuna-Hikona, which reflects her investigative resolve and determination to uncover the truth. As a member of the Investigation Team, she contributes her intelligence, investigative experience, and combat abilities to solving Inaba's murders and rescuing those trapped in the mysterious world inside televisions.
