Jubilation Lee was born into a wealthy Beverly Hills family, but her life changed drastically after her parents were murdered. She ran away and lived as a mall rat, where she discovered her mutant ability to project explosive pyrotechnic plasmoids. Targeted by mutant hunters, she was rescued by members of the X-Men, whom she secretly followed back to their base. Jubilee eventually became Wolverine's sidekick and an official member of the team.

Thanks to her Mutant ability to generate pyrotechnic plasmoids, Jubilation Lee creates firework displays that are almost as explosive as her personality.

Jubilee was with her fellow X-Men when a temporal storm relocated Krakoa to the year 2099. Unfortunately, the effects of the Timestream Entanglement caused her adopted son Shogo to become trapped in his dragon-form. Jubilee traveled to Thebes in the Collapsed Timeline, hoping Apocalypse could help her find a solution. In exchange, she became his Horseman of Famine, vowing to help him absorb the faith of the gods.
