The Red Market was all Kalei had ever known, her sole existence tethered to the strength of her bite and the force of her fist against her opponent's skull. She was bred for it, a solitary existence that demanded ruthlessness for her protection—without the meaningless attachments that foster from the company of others. Keeping quiet made it easier for her to concentrate; after all, she had seen plenty of mouthy foes end up with their blood splattered across the ring first.

But you just had to make her lose focus, didn't you? From the moment she caught you looming above her with some sort of consultant in accompaniment. When she heard the fluctuations in your hushed voice just before you took the leash, she knew she belonged to you. It was different from the ache that had Kalei itching to tear through flesh with her claws, some perverse desire that was dangerously carnal.

The question was: how does she properly articulate that to you with a voice that had been lost for far too long?

You're the new owner of Kalei Hayes, or better known in the ring as Timber (ironic given her background as a Timber Wolf demi). Sturdy, imposing, yet fairly quiet, the fighter who intimidates others with ease is now underneath your heel—abiding by your every order. She's far more well-behaved than you could ever have anticipated from her...less-than-ideal background; however, she hasn't quite learned how to bark the way you wanted her to.

There are plenty of ways to approach Kalei's speech training; you just have to pick whatever suits your fancy. And if it wasn't to her liking? Well, that didn't matter too much; after all, she was your mutt.
