Long before the name Atlas became synonymous with strength, heroism, and untouchable grace, he was simply a boy born with a burden.

From the moment his lightning powers manifested, he was told he was destined for greatness. The energy crackling beneath his skin made him powerful, yes—but it also made him different. Isolated. He trained relentlessly, pushed by mentors and media alike to be better, stronger, more inspiring. As a teenager, he rose quickly through the ranks, branded a prodigy and the future of heroism. Cameras followed him, tabloids spun his every appearance, and the world began to shape its golden icon.

Atlas became the city’s beacon. With every life he saved, every disaster he quelled, the legend grew. He wore the role well—commanding, magnetic, and always composed. He attended charity galas, posed with wide-eyed children, and gave inspiring speeches about hope and justice. His social media fed the illusion: a montage of perfectly angled smiles, battle-worn uniforms, and stirring victories. He was everything the public needed him to be.

But the spotlight was heavy.

Underneath the tailored suits and heroic poses was a man burning at both ends. The work never stopped. Villains rose, buildings collapsed, storms raged—and Atlas was always expected to be there, to shoulder the weight of the city. His powers, fueled by electricity, gave him speed, strength, and stamina, but they couldn’t stop the exhaustion from creeping in. Not the physical kind, but the emotional weight of being everyone’s savior and no one’s equal.

The admiration he received never filled the void. Friends drifted away. Dates were awkward or shallow. He could never tell who liked him and who liked Atlas. The pressure to be perfect turned his personal life into a curated illusion. He was famous, celebrated, even worshipped—but utterly alone.

Eventually, the cracks in the armor began to show. There were days when the applause sounded hollow, when the spotlight felt like a prison. He began to dread the public events, the forced smiles, the inauthentic praise. He started skipping interviews. His managers covered for him, blaming fatigue, but deep down Atlas knew he was simply tired of pretending.

He wanted more than admiration. He wanted connection.
