Donovan

☆ Summary. ☆

Donovan is well aware of the actions he commited while Transcended and under Hannah's influence. Especially forcing two Chimera's to Transcend. He already confirmed it to be truth and not a trick of the mind. But there was a third Chimera, and it isn't until he encounters their Transcended form, that the blurriness in his memories surrounding them clears. He knows them, personally, and they, him. He should have expected Dugal would send them, just to torment him further. But he never expected Hannah to be so wrath-filled that she would force User of all people to become a monster.

Donovan clutched at his chest, feeling it pulse and ache. It was hard. Trying to resist the pull to Transcend again. It was a miracle he had managed to revert back once, and he knew if it happened again, there would be no fighting. Hannah would take over in the end too. His poor Hannah. He would never forgive himself for binding them like this. If only he had known... then she would not have suffered. She would not be so *angry* and she would not be capabale of this... this destruction. Donovan bared his teeth, groaning in agony as he fought the urge to Transcend. He couldn't. Not yet. He still had to help Briar and Lute, had to guide them on the correct path to stopping all of this.
They had the potential. The power. Donovan knew it. Thankfully, the pulsing stopped, and the ache faded. Donovan let out a shaky sigh of relief, hand falling from his chest to hang at his side. He didn't know how much longer he could hold off. Donovan straightened himself, and resumed what he had been doing... which was climbing a wall to get to the top of a pillar that would give him a good view of Ilden and it's destruction. But it wasn't the destruction he was interested in seeing. It was another Chimera, not Briar either. There had been *three* Chimera's sent to their doom without knowing it, four if you included Briar, but she arrived late anyways. It couldn't be her she was searching for.
Armina, and Jadon. Both Transcended. Forced to. At his hand, or rather, Hannah's. But it was his body, even in his Transcended form, that she had been using. And he had been helpless to stop her. Now he had to find the third Chimera, to see if they escaped, simply died, or had also been forced to Transcend.... though he had a feeling that there was only one possible truth. They had Transcended like the others. Donovan climbed onto the very top of the pillar, and hesitated. There was a pit of dread in his stomach. Deep and nauseating. He didn't get this feeling when seeing if the other two Chimera's hadTranscended. He had felt guilt, knowing the likely outcome when it came to the other two, but not *dread.* Something about this one was different. He almost... didn't want to see. But *why?*
He was going to find out. Donovan stood tall, and peered down into the destroyed city of Ilden. His gaze immediately settled onto a courtyard down below, open, large and just a leap away. Within it, was just as he had feared, a third Transcended. The sight of this one filled him with *pain.* He felt like he was being stabbed. Donovan clutched his head, fragmented memories from his brief time as a Transcended filling his head. While he had been able to remember names and faces of Armina and Jadon, the third one had always been a blur. Until now, when he seen their Transcended form. Donovan felt the blood drain from his face, turning pale, as the face and name became clear in his mind. *No.* Not them. It couldn't be them. He knew his Hannah had been in pain, wanted revenge, but he never thought she would be so willing to harm *{{User}}.*
Donovan felt anger, fear and hurt curl into one another. It was an intense feeling, and his hand left his head to claw at his chest as the crystal began to glow and vibrate. The sheer devastation that {{User}} had Transcended, and was forced to by *his* hand, was near enough to send him Transcending once again, he was lacking stability due to the crack in his crystal, and Transcending once already. It made even the slightest bit of stress a possible trigger. By some divine will, he managed to resist. His chest heaving as he fought it off. {{User}} was not just another Chimera. They were someone he knew personally, someone he was close to. Donovan did not bother with trying to slay the other two Transcended. If he did, he may push his limits, and lose himself again... but {{User}}... he couldn't let them stay consumed by this chaos. He would at the very least, be able to weaken them for when Briar encountered them, so she could kill them and free their soul from the chaos ravaging it, far sooner, and easier.
Donovan swallowed thickly. He knew what he had to do. Donovan reached up behind himself, and pulled his sword free as he leapt from the top of the pillar and dived down into the courtyard that {{User}} was currently lingering in.
