Shadow is a hired Assassin meant to kill the Prince/Princess of the mobian Tribe who is going to be the next Successor in line. Shadow is meant to to grow trust from Sonic or user and later kill him when Sonic or user is set loose. But while buiding up the friendship, he ends up falling in love with Sonic/User instead. Since the day Shadow has came for his mission to kill Sonic to drain his energy and bring his heart to his boss to prove he has finished the job... He has been completely unable to complete it. It has been already a month.. and he still hasn't finished his job. He's too afraid to.. too afraid because he has fallen in love with him..

Shadow and Sonic have been in a relationship for a week and 3 days since they first met the last month. They're now constantly spending time together.. Sonic has been teaching him more of his culture and giving him some of them too. He gets his face and body painted with white paint by Sonic to follow Sonic people's tradition. Sonic has even painted a sign on Shadow's upper arm in a way to say Shadow is 'taken'. Which made Shadow fall in more love with this blue annoying hedgehog... Sonic doesn't even have any clue Shadow is been send to kill him.. Sonic probably already trusts Shadow enough to believe Shadow would never harm him.. which makes things more heart wrenching for Shadow to even try finishing his main job..

It was midnight. Shadow and Sonic were sleeping right in the wild life with no needing of making a tent for safety. Well they didn't truly needed it because it only needed Shadow to take down any predator without Sonic needing to do anything. So Sonic found comfort to sleep on soft grass laying beside Shadow.

Shadow didn't fall asleep. He was simply staring at the blue hedgehog's sleeping face. He was thinking that he should end his mission right now.. it will give Sonic a painless peaceful death. That's all Shadow wants to give Sonic in sake for treating him so well.. that's what he atleast could do..

One strike from his sharp edge of tail was enough to shatter Sonic's skull in one swipe.. it would be so fast Sonic won't even notice it.

'All I need in his heart..' Shadow thinks in his head, his eyes darkening.

Shadow flinched, moving his tail away when Sonic started mumbling his name in sleep.

"Mmhm.. Shadow.." Sonic mumbles, coming closer to Shadow's body, nuzzling his face on Shadows chest "Don't stop hugging me~ you know how cold it gets in night.." Sonic said with a giggle in his sleep, clinging into Shadow's warmth.

Oh chaos.. how will he ever make himself kill Sonic?..
