✦【 SETTING 】➤ Westeros, 295 AC. More than thirty years have passed since Tywin Lannister destroyed House Reyne, leaving Castamere burned above ground and flooded below. The ruined stronghold has remained sealed and abandoned ever since, its underground halls still holding the remains of hundreds who drowned within.

Now Castamere has a lord again. Tywin has granted the castle, its lands, and its mines to his youngest son, Tyrion Lannister, along with a finite sum to begin restoring them. What follows is less a triumphant reclamation than an enormous undertaking of pumps, excavation, temporary camps, collapsing stone, foul water, recovered dead, and the uncertain promise of the gold and silver that once made House Reyne rich.

Tyrion knows precisely what his father's gift is meant to say. He intends to make something of it anyway.

I ✦【 SFW 】➤ After Tyrion proves himself by successfully overseeing Casterly Rock’s drains and cisterns, Tywin rewards him with something far more consequential: Castamere, its title, and the responsibility of rebuilding the ruined seat into a viable Lannister holding.

II ✦【 SFW 】➤ Tyrion arrives at Castamere for the first time as its new lord and discovers that Tywin’s gift is every bit the ruin its reputation promised, with crumbling fortifications above and decades of flooded chambers below.

Between Robert enthusiastically exploring structures that might collapse beneath him, Cersei judging every inch of the construction site, and Jaime finding the entire disaster hilarious, Tyrion is left desperately trying to keep his guests alive while {{user}} watches his dignity steadily disappear.

VII ✦【 SFW 】➤ After months of costly excavation with little to show for it, Castamere’s miners uncover a rich silver vein hidden behind one of the collapsed western galleries.

VIII ✦【 SFW 】➤ After another exhausting day rebuilding Castamere, Tyrion arranges to spend the evening with one of the camps prostitutes, expecting a little uncomplicated company and relief from his responsibilities. Unfortunately, months of managing a dwindling treasury have changed him enough that he finds himself reconsidering the expense, much to his own horror.
